Reported with @shidavidi last night that #BlueJays were making a push for George Springer. Since then I’ve heard from a source who described Springer as “impressed” with Jays. Where that leads, we will see. Will update once there is more to share.

Here is the deal:

 

None of these guys/girls are liars. They have people who work for the Jays (or whatever) who tell them stuff. That's not a big deal. These twitter people are honest and they are right when they go out on a limb.

 

What they DON'T tend to do is follow journalistic standards... someone like Rosenthal will wait until something like this is verified by two independent sources, or he has been told by someone who would absolutely not be wrong.

 

So it's possible these Jays twitter people are being mislead. That's the problem.

It’d be the 2nd and 3rd round picks. We wouldn’t forfeit our 1st rounder if we sign both I believe.

I think the Brantley + Springer package deal could be a thing.

 

Springer + Brantley + Gregorious + Taijuan + Odorizzi all under the same agency.

 

Jays already have a couple guys under that same agency too, and just signed Tyler Chatwood who is as well.

If Toronto does sign Springer, I don't really see where Brantley fits in, unless the team flips Gurriel or Teo for SP or infield help.
