Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 My god. The outfielders on my beer league softball team make better throws. This kinda throwing arm is why I was always an infielder...
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 lol at this throw https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2021/2021-05/10/20ce82b5-6cb0ea05-b2861a22-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_4000K.mp4 I feel bad for Khris Davis honestly. 70-80 grade power in his prime (not anymore) with a 20 arm. This throw is cartoonishly bad, it's the kind of throw you make in your dreams. I think he's had the yips in the outfield with his throwing for years now. Welp!

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 MLB has given Oakland permission to start exploring a relocation if they can't get a new stadium. Las Vegas is expected to be the favourite. Do we want Oakland to relocate?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Ohtani was dominant tonight - finding his command (1 BB and 62 strikes in 88 pitches). It looks like they moved him to RF when they pulled him from the game. Thought that was interesting....sure beats losing his bat when he comes out.

Las Vegas is expected to be the favourite. Do we want Oakland to relocate? Yes, I think it would be good for baseball. However, I think Nashville would be a great city for a baseball team and help expand the sport. The problem with Nashville is you might need some realignment with travel etc. Las Vegas could stay AL West, Nashville, not so much IMO...

Ohtani plays OF in same game after 10-K performance https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2171173 Unreal what's he's doing. In an era where everyone is about rest, this guy is pushing his skills to the limit. Really hope he's able to stay healthy.

Las Vegas is expected to be the favourite. Do we want Oakland to relocate? At this point you probably have to. It should definitely be a last resort though. Maybe MLB needs to start putting a little money away and funding new stadiums themselves. The Rays really need to be relocated too. The market just doesn't work for two MLB teams in Florida.

Las Vegas is expected to be the favourite. Do we want Oakland to relocate? Oakland is in a situation like Montreal where they have a great and passionate fanbase being screwed over by their stadium situation. There is nothing to be gained by relocating a successful and historic franchise. Relocation would be a tremendous failure by MLB, no question about it.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Did anyone see that strike 3 call to Betts? Completely embarrassing for the sport. The Dodgers will likely lose this game because of it. One of the worst called strikes I've seen this year, of which there have been many. MLB needs to figure this s*** out. I just don't get how any umpire with good eyes calls that a strike. At no point did it cross the plate

A team in Oregon would be fun As long as it's in the redneck part of Oregon and not in the commie-hippie-BLM-overtaken part (Portland). Those people don't deserve anything good like an MLB team. Nashville can take the Rays team if not Montreal.

It is why almost every facet of life is being automated. If you have the technology, only makes sense to use it. It's just a matter of time before it happens.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 (edited) This is all about putting pressure on the city. It would be sad to see the A's relocated, but they need a stadium in the worst way. Edited May 12, 2021 by Spanky99
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 This ended quickly, can't hit big league pitching, the FB especially. Rays designated 1B/OF/DH Yoshi Tsutsugo for assignment. Advice: The Rays signed Tsutsugo to a two-year, $12 million contract last offseason, but things just haven't worked out. The 29-year-old has produced a weak .187/.292/.336 batting line over 272 plate appearances with the club. At this point, the Rays view it as a sunk cost and will turn the page with their roster. Of course, he's had to play under some unusual circumstances, so it will be interesting to see what's next for him. Someone will sign him after he clears waivers, hoping for a bounce back.

Someone will sign him after he clears waivers, hoping for a bounce back. Tsutsugo has never shown an ability to hit major league pitching so I wouldn't really consider it a bounceback if he eventually figures it out. Hopefully for his sake Yoshi is willing to accept a minor league assignment to give himself a chance to figure things out against lesser competition.
