Well, being in NY I’m just accustomed to seeing articles on Stanton’s (premature) demise pretty regularly and then he bounces back. Didn’t mean for my casual fandom to rub you the wrong way

The Rays shifted 4 outfielders against Trout, and Trout did his thing. Vasgersian, a well known anti-shifter, with a good candidate for worst home run call of the year:

When do you all think we could see Wander Franco this year? Adames has been kind of s***, so you have to think the Rays are thinking about pulling the trigger?

Yes, just giving Franco some time to warm up at AAA. He's also been a bit of a slow starter which some attribute to "cold" weather, but maybe he's over that now.

Yeah, I think we see him within a month if he dominates AAA. Rays are hovering around 0.500, and getting nothing from Adames, Tsutsugo, or Brosseau. It would be irresponsible to let Franco torch AAA for a big chunk of the season while rostering multiple replacement level infielders on the major league roster.

La Russa put Liam Hendriks out there at 2nd base as his runner for the top of the 10th because he didn't know that he could put the hitter preceding him (there is an exception for pitchers running) and a White Sox reporter explained this rule to him after the game.

 

I wonder if Jose Abreu is even faster than Liam Hendriks.

Yeah. He won't start until they play the Yankees in New York and he can DH. Fans get to watch Erick Fedde hit instead of Juan Soto. Very cool.

Lindor having tough game in St Louis. Still hitless (in a 0-24 stretch), had a throwing error, and then Stroman gave up a 2-run homer.

 

Not having a great start to the season. Even worse if you looks at the last half of September 2020
