Another thing to keep in mind, especially if the Jays have trouble attracting top flight players, is to keep Bichette happy. He wants to play SS, he’s young enough to improve with more reps there, and he’s also very likely the best all around player the Jays will have over the next five years. I wouldn’t mess around with his position unless it was necessary and he’s not Vlad level defensively at SS.

 

I’m fine with missing out on Lindor either way.

 

Not even close.

If you can't land a SS move Bichette back to SS and use your $30 million elsewhere.

 

Management can't keep finishing second to everyone in transactions. PULL THE TRIGGER.

 

Giving up multiple (good) prospects for 1 year of ANY player is simply no longer considered smart baseball business. A billionaire playing with his new toy shouldn't change that.

Bryant, Springer, Odorizzi and a bullpen arm would be an awesome offseason. Still many great possibilities for us but it does really begin with at least 1 top tier free agent (Springer, Bauer, Realmuto, DJL). Edited by Jays24

We'll likely hear a leak of Toronto's offer down the road, I'd take Bryant on a year, likely cost his salary and a Spect.

I have complete, unflinching faith in Ross Atkins.

 

I do too but, damn, the wait sucks. It's like doing well in an interview and then slowly doubting yourself unrationally until you get the job offer a few weeks later.
