He's plenty fast, he's not optimal in how he uses it. He also doesn't seem to steal bases ever (but I'm just going from memory on that one...)

 

Also, Kirk seriously doesn't look like a guy who hasn't even played in AA yet.

 

He's been playing AAA this year. There's just no stats and we had no idea how he was doing. I'm guessing he was knocking the cover off the ball and that's why they brought him up.

I agree. Agility and route running are a huge deal at CF. Also the ability to throw your body around to make unexpected catches. Dont think Grichuk is that guy to go all out on catches.

 

I think the issue is if they have Grichuk, Hernandez, and Gurriel for the OF, you need to move one of them aside (trade) to bring in a better CFer.

He's been playing intrasquad games, while there are MLB quality players down there, it's only the ones on the Jays 60 man that he's seeing. He's also playing against other A ball guys like Martin and Groshans (not pitching, obviously, they're just the other A ball guys that came to mind...)
