Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 As bad as Ray has been this year I think that's a good trade. A lefty that can move into the pen and get some strikeouts if other guys come back.

If Pete Walker can fix the command a bit, he'll be a useful addition.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Just when we thought we wouldn't have to see Rougned Odor any more, he may be on his way to Boston before the day is done.
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Just under an hour left for Shatkins to steal trade deadline MVP from Preller

jerb Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Mark Feinsand @Feinsand The Rockies are acquiring Kevin Pillar and cash from the Red Sox in exchange for a PTBNL and 2019-20 international slot money, per source.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Red Sox selling their depth really helps our series next week. Good on Pillar.
TheDragon Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Maybe Pillar will actually be able to hit in Denver
EZe Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 I’m digging these cheap buy low, FA to be moves. Gives us a minute chance in the playoffs and keeps our financial flexibility intact for the offseason where I think there will be some major bargains to be had.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Archie Bradley and Brian Goodwin to the Reds. Bauer isn't getting moved.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 The deadline was 4 o'clock, right?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 The deadline was 4 o'clock, right? Correct.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Walker, Stripling, Ray, Villar, Vogelbach
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Walker, Stripling, Ray, Villar, Vogelbach For Conine, Bergen, the ptbnl for walker and whatever we gave up for Stripling (2 ptbnl). We gave cash for Vogelbach but gor some cash back for Ray
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 these 60 man pools are annoying. So many players to be named later
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 The right kind of deadline day moves.
TheDragon Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Any of these guys not rentals?

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Any of these guys not rentals? Stripling is the only player that has control past this year.
Ryu In My House Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Any of these guys not rentals? You can look on fangraphs to parse the contract/club control status for each.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Stripling is the only player that has control past this year. Vogelbach also??
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Vogelbach also?? That's true.. If he sticks.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Wow. We get Robbie Ray. He’s a wild child. I'm assuming he starts, but if we use him out of the pen can we just play the wild thing song with the crowd noise from Major League when he enters.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Really curious who the 3 PTBL are. Worried who they could be. We didn't get Stripling for nothing. I'm guessing we gave up some half way decent players or guys with upside.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 31, 2020 Author Posted August 31, 2020 There will always be someone upset when a prospect is moved but we are leaving with our top 10 prospects intact and helped our depth for the year...without really taking away PT from anyone we need to see everyday (unless you believe Rowdy is an everyday guy, and in that case I don't care about you anyway)
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 There will always be someone upset when a prospect is moved but we are leaving with our top 10 prospects intact and helped our depth for the year...without really taking away PT from anyone we need to see everyday (unless you believe Rowdy is an everyday guy, and in that case I don't care about you anyway) Why the Rowdy hate. He came in with the game on the line and stayed on a tough slider not in the strike zone and knocked it into right field and we almost tied the game. He came into the game with a .217 Babip and his exit velocity is the same as last year, but his K rate has dropped dramatically and his walk rate has ticked up slightly. I'll take an above average hitter with a .217 Babip, especially from a guy who's showing improvement and has big boy power. On top of that he provides league average defense at first. I don't think Vogelbach is going to take a lot of playing time from Rowdy to be honest.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 I can confirm it is not Conine or Brown Well I don't know about Brown, but I now too can confirm it is not Conine going to Seattle for Walker.
