saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 How is that possible to have alternating positive tests, then negative, then positive and negative. The tests are highly accurate if administered properly. This could be a break down in testing more than anything. One of the Marlins players who tested positive has now tested negative. If there are issues with the lab they are sending samples to or the people administering tests they need to get that fixed.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 That's pretty embarrassing. This kind of f*** up is a fireable offence.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 You would think they would have had a plan for the worst case Marlins scenario. 15 players although one has tested negative after having tested positive. The team itself just can't give up and take the league down. There are a ton of unsigned free agents. Kendrys Morales could probably DH tomorrow if called upon. Sign 3 or 4 vets, dig into your 60 man pool and field a roster. I'm pretty sure I read an article about some unsigned MLB players working out in anticipation of an opportunity. That opportunity has arisen.

I reallt hope they move every sports team from Florida soon

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 How the f*** does this work? You can't just not show up for games.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 How the f*** does this work? You can't just not show up for games. I think Miami would go there.... I think... Or are they saying they don't want to be around the Marlins??

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 How the f*** does this work? You can't just not show up for games. They could just play the game in Washington, unless they are voting against playing the Marlins, which would be dumb.
philly30 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 And the phillies next game will be on the road at home against Toronto because Buffalo is not ready and this is just week one of this disaster
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 They just need to get as many games in as they can. Do their best to get each team to get at least 50 games and just go off of win percentage.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Maybe the Jays can just stay in Washington and keep playing the Nats since their opponents were going to be the Marlins and Phillies.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Juan Soto has tested negative 6 times, and positive once. He is asymptomatic. He remains ineligible to play. The positive result was probably a false positive. edit - already posted, anyway

The have to be MLB sanctioned tests. Three of the negatives are MLB sanctioned results. I can only assume two of them are from before the 1 positive result.

I can only assume two of them are from before the 1 positive result. 6 negatives. 3 of which are not MLB sanctioned, sure. So 3 negative tests and one positive result. Explain to me a combination where those 4 test results did not result in at least one back to back negative? Obviously, he's tested positive more than one time, somehow.

Remember, Soto went into quarantine when he arrived from the Dominican.

This is the right call during a global pandemic. We cannot be risking lives of innocent people just because Juan Soto has tested negative.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 NFL I had no idea who Miguel Rojas was before this. 3 game breakout star NL MVP frontrunner Miguel Rojas, 31 year old heart and soul of the Miami Marlins with 466 wRC+.

Certainly the Marlins situation shows what MLB has put in place is not necessarily sufficient. As with anything new and particularly as complicated as this situation, there are going to be excesses on both ends of the spectrum, too cautious in some areas, too lax in others.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 MLB Front Office is an absolute embarrassment.
