According to the report, many players told investigators that "they were unaware that in-game sign decoding from the replay station had been prohibited in 2018 and 2019." That's despite the fact that most of them were on the team the year before during the Apple Watch incident, which Manfred himself said was used as the impetus to create serious guidelines for all of baseball regarding the legal use of technology during games. So those Boston players either lied to investigators or plugged their ears during the front office's "extensive efforts to communicate and enforce the rules." (The team president actually tweeted that out.)

 

Either way, the Red Sox are full of s***.

Chris Archer had TOS and looks pretty cooked

 

That deal just keeps getting better and better for Tampa. Meadows was an immediate star, Glasnow somehow fixed his control issues and looked like an ace (albeit SSS) before going down, and Archer turned into a pumpkin right away in Pittsburgh and now has TOS which is probably worse than TJS for pitchers at this point.

 

Oh and Tampa also got rid of Archer's most expensive years in a once team friendly deal with Meadows and Glasnow not even arb eligible until 2021 lol.

Ex-Dodgers star Carl Crawford arrested on assault charge

HOUSTON (AP) Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Carl Crawford has been arrested after his former girlfriend accused him of assaulting her during an argument over a man she had begun dating.

 

An arrest affidavit filed Wednesday by Houston police states that the ballplayer-turned-record producer went to the home of Gabriele Washington on May 8, produced a handgun from which he unloaded the ammunition in her presence, then demanded information on her latest dating relationship.

 

Washington told investigators Crawford pushed her to the floor, slammed her head against a wall and choked her. Crawford is free on $50,000 bond.

 

When her year-old daughter walked up, she distracted Crawford, who is her father, and Washington ran to call police. Crawford then fled but followed up with threatening cellphone texts to Washington, according to the affidavit.

 

A message to his attorney, Rusty Hardin, seeking comment was not returned immediately.

 

The incident happened a week before a 5-year-old boy and a woman drowned in the backyard pool at Crawford's Houston home.

 

From Houston, the 38-year-old Crawford was a four-time All-Star outfielder. He last played in the major leagues in 2016 with the Dodgers.

No, he's black. He is the son of Tracy Rocker who was an Outland Trophy winning DT at Auburn, and is currently the DL coach at South Carolina.

Kyle Glaser: If this ends up happening - the Commissioner setting the 2021 draft order as he's allowed to in consultation with the MLBPA if the season is fewer than 81 games - prepare for a complete lack of trust in the process if the order is anything other than the reverse of the year's standings. It's a setup ripe for corruption and favoritism.

To be fair - the MLBPA are a bunch of f***ing cry babies and I suspect nothing they propose (even just reverse order of the shortened season standings) will be good enough or viewed as fair.

Billionaires arguing with millionaires over money paid to them by people making less in their lifetimes Than they do in one season, or in some cases a few weeks. The whole process is so out of touch that both sides need to pull their heads out of their asses, or nobody will be watching at all when they come back.
