Nice rountable with Bichette, Donaldson, Judge, and Tatis Jr. If you go to the 15:15 mark, you will start to miss Josh Donaldson as a Jay.

Just start the season already. We still have the Yankees, but bring on the Pirates!

And Phillies/Red Sox/Twins/Braves/Rays/Nats/Astros/Mets and Cardinals... the Cactus League is far weaker.

So stat nerds?

...and here we go...

Lol. Apparently they literally had a few strategically placed robots in the stands that were programmed to bang on drums and create crowd noise

“More than anything, he set an example for all of us in how comfortably he lived enjoying his personal passions and pursuits. We are profoundly saddened to have lost him and will carry his memory with us always.”

That's a trust fund baby obituary if I've ever seen one.

Stroman has challenged Kyle Larson to a UFC fight once Stroman's career is over because Larson dropped an N-bomb during the iRacing thing. He also wants him suspended from Nascar for life and notes it's an embarrassment to Jackie Robinson that Kyle Larson drives #42.

Seems like a reaction from someone who wants attention and/or has anger issues.

* Was it COVID related or natural causes?

Brain tumor I believe. Thought he was diagnosed with it a long long ago and was only given a few months at that time.

Dr. Fauci: Sports can return in 2020 without fans in attendance

Dr. Anthony Fauci sees a way back for sports this year.

One of the leading medical experts for the Trump administration's coronavirus task force believes the best way to resume North American sports is meticulously monitoring players and keeping fans out of arenas for the foreseeable future.

"There's a way of doing that," the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told Snapchat's Peter Hamby when asked about starting up sports again. "Nobody comes to the stadium. Put (teams) in big hotels wherever you want to play. Keep them very well surveilled.

"... But have them tested, like every week," he added. "And make sure they don't wind up infecting each other or their family and just let them play the season out."

Fauci was answering Hamby's question specifically about the MLB, NFL, and college football seasons, which have yet to begin their respective 2020 campaigns.

However, his advice sounds similar to the NBA's reported plan from earlier this month that proposes hosting all remaining games in Las Vegas without fans in attendance. A comparable plan is reportedly being considered for baseball, but with all contests in Arizona.

"I mean people say 'Well you can't play without spectators.' Well, I think you probably get enough buy-in from people who are dying to see a baseball game," Fauci added. "Particularly me: I'm living in Washington (D.C.). We have the world champion Washington Nationals. I want to see them playing again."

President Donald Trump has expressed a strong desire to see sports restart soon in the United States, though medical experts, including Fauci, are cautioning against a return to normalcy too soon.

On Tuesday, Trump announced he's seeking advice from several prominent U.S. sports executives about how to best end the lockdown that the COVID-19 pandemic prompted.

Some within his newly formed panel include NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB commissioners Adam Silver, Roger Goodell, Gary Bettman, and Rob Manfred, respectively. UFC president Dana White and WWE CEO Vince McMahon were also named.

You did? I found him to be, for how much of a personality he was, an extremely boring pitcher to watch. Sinker low and away 80% of the time, none of his stuff had that wow factor. He was just kinda meh. Good enough but not worth the hassle.

I'm also glad he wasn't traded to a playoff team, that was lulzy.

I did not like his histrionics, though.

The stuff/repertoire isn't super exciting (although his breaking ball can be nasty), but I can still see why Stroman would be considered fun to watch. The intensity he brings to the mound, and his athleticism/defensive ability are traits worthy of appreciation.

MLB Strips Red Sox Of 2020 Second-Round Pick

By Kyle Glaser

on April 22, 2020

Major League Baseball announced Wednesday it was stripping the Red Sox of their 2020 second-round draft pick after the league concluded its investigation into whether Boston illegally stole signs during games using video replay.

Commissioner Rob Manfred stated in his report of the investigation's findings that Red Sox video replay operator J.T. Watkins "utilized the game feeds in the replay room, in violation of MLB regulations, to revise sign sequence information that he had permissibly provided to players prior to the game" on at least some occasions during the 2018 regular season.

The investigation found that the Red Sox's violations were in a more limited scope and impact than the Astros' sign-stealing. Manfred's report stated the signs were only transmitted to players when the Red Sox had a runner on second base, and that most players and coaches were not involved or aware of the scheme.

The violations were found to have taken place only during the 2018 regular season. The investigation did not find sufficient evidence that the conduct continued in the 2018 postseason or 2019 regular season.

Due to the limited nature of the infractions, Manfred issued the following punishments:

- Watkins is suspended without pay for 2020 and will be prohibited from serving as a replay room operator through 2021.

- The Red Sox will forfeit their second-round pick in the 2020 draft

The investigation did not find that manager Alex Cora knew or should have known about the violations. However, Cora will be suspended through the 2020 postseason for his actions as the Astros' bench coach in 2017.
