The Nationals are pretty evenly matched with Houston on paper IMO. It's not a huge upset by any stretch of the imagination. The Nationals have a really good team. A rotation led by Scherzer, Strasburg and Corbin is one of the best in baseball.

They have a history of underperforming in the Playoffs, but I don't believe that teams are chokers. To me this is as surprising as the Dodgers winning. Of Course we also should note that this isn't over

Yeah, I mean last game was inches away from the inning ending with a one run lead. The bullpen usage would have been dramatically different if it had (I assume). The Nats got really lucky, then made it look worse against guys who hadn't pitched for a while after it was already decided.

Looking back on this game, its kinda confusing that Hinch went to Pressly instead of Harris or Smith in that situation. Game 2 was extremely important for the Astros, if they keep the game close and force the Nats to use Doolittle and Hudson then the Nats are kinda gassed for games 3/4/5. Instead they let the Nats blow it out and rest their best relievers.

Yeah, Smith would have been the guy imo. If you get Harris warm there, you probably want to be 100% sure you're bringing him in. Bringing a guy with an injured knee into a critical situation like that has trouble written all over it.

I really want the Nats/expos to win however game 3 will be the tell tale. If the Astros take game 3 they are right back in it and momentum can shift on a dime. Cole and Verlander can/will come back with a vengeance.
