I really miss AA a lot.

AA got things done (for the most part) because he has excellent inter personal skills, which we can all see Ross Atkins does not have. He rarely makes eye contact with his interviewers, which is a tall tale sign. You need a personality to be a good GM in any professionsl sport.

I don't hate the players coming back, I just feel Stroman should have fetched better. I'm guessing SWR was a draft target that they missed on.

Only thing I can think of is that they are really high on this Richardson kid

That's fine, but he still would have been available come Wednesday, regardless of what the Mets were spewing at Atkins.

My feelings exactly

How did we go from allegedly asking for Gleybar from NYY to getting this trash from the Mets?

We didn't ask for Gleybar, don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Yeah, otherwise you'd believe that they just traded their best asset for two guys outside of the top 100... :P

Rival evaluators noting: Stroman is a ground ball machine, and the Mets have what is statistically the worst infield defense in the majors.

Yeah you are not wrong. Remember watching an interview with AA on the Acuna extension. Very personable guy and I remember he was almost surely the hardest working GM in the league. Other GMs would tell stories about it. Glad to see it looks like he is looking after his health more lately.

Simeon Woods-Richardson is the best player out of the deal ... He is a freaking stud ... People don't know s*** about prospect to react like Shatkins got fleeced ... What a deal for the Jays

I would've been totally ok with Diaz and SWR. But this package is dog s***! I'm throwing a mini tantrum at the moment.

We would have had to add to Stroman to get Diaz back, unless we were eating Cano salary or something.

SWR is in rare statistical company as far as recently historical A ball prospects go. It's like trading for Luis Patino a year ago. Could be great!

If you filter for A ball, 18 years old, 70+ IP, and >20% K-BB% in the last two decades, there are like 8 total names and SWR is one of them. Thor, Bumgarner, Patino, SWR... and year, Shelby Miller, Jordan Lyles, Jason Knapp and another dude this year.

I am excited about Woods-Richardson, I must admit.

From what I've read, and what Mets fans are saying about the deal.

Can't wait to look back on this deal and see Shatkins was brilliant. ;)

I can buy that teams did not view Stro as a top of the rotation type due to his K rate, and may have been offering less because of it, but I can't imagine offers were worse than this.

With that said, SWR does look intriguing. He's so far away though.

Like Abom said a couple of pages ago, maybe most of these teams viewed Stroman as a mid-rotation guy rather than an ace or a No.2 type starter. Remember Stroman was awful last year.

Regardless, the Jays still had three days so there was no rush on their part. Wait until closer to the deadline and maybe one of those teams become desperate.

I still think the Jays could have done better.

Thought there could be more for Stro, but it's entirely possible other teams do not value a bit more than a year of a mid rotation starter like Stro the way we do.

Bro Im a Blue Jays fan, drafted Woods Richardson last year in my fantasy draft where we own 100 minors each ... I made alot of research back then until now ... The fact nobody knows about the guy tells me all they look at are there own farm system and MLB team ... I would have liked Jays to get Vientos too though or gamble on Szapuschi

Wouldnt call it brilliant. There are lots of younger power arms in the minors. Nobody knows for sure how any of them will turn out. If they hit on this then that's awesome but they still should have got someone with the same power arm who is a bit closer and less of a risk. Or if not then at least one more player thrown in.

Far away ? He has complete mound presence and a complete bulldog mentality, he will be in the majors by age 21

Well then, welcome to BJMB. We sometimes get other team's fans in here after trades.

Hope you post more.

With the exception of Lyles (Miller and Knapp could've been great if not for injuries) that's a pretty good track record.
