If they wanted Bichette up it's as simple as optioning Brandon Drury.

Ross Atkins is really starting to annoy me. It's looking more and more like they are going to try to milk that extra year

Of course they are.

At some point it will become annoying if they don't milk the extra year. Calling him up for 5-6 weeks and punting a year of service time would be dumb. If they wanted him up, right after the AS break was the time.

Agreed. The injury probably altered some plans, but the longer they wait, the less sense it makes to call him up. Lose 2026 to get 8 weeks in 2019? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

He's putting himself in a no win situation. Either waste a year of service for a few weeks of playing time or suffer the terrible optics of keeping a guy who is MLB ready down for 3 months and change, including through September where they wouldn't even need to clear space for him.

I'd just keep him down at this point. If he's as good as we all think that extra year is going to be worth a lot of money.

No doubt.

If teams are going to continue to game the system like this, in addition to whatever other changes need to take place to the CBA to align pay to performance, they should give a player the option of foregoing some service time in exchange for being called up "early". Everyone would win. The team would keep its service time, the player gets to earn league min instead of minor league pay and the fans get to see a prized prospect. Obviously the downside would be the team coercing players into doing it, but with basically every team doing this s*** now anyways, the downside is minimal. If not this, then some other mechanism to ensure prospects deserving of an MLB roster spot get an MLB roster spot. This is getting embarrasing.

Hypothetically speaking, if the Yankees are very high on Stroman, and were willing to trade Garcia and Frazier to trade within the division, what would Frazier get in a trade. I don't want Frazier.

Also, is there any chance Giles could get Graterol as the main piece, even if he's the only piece in a trade?

I think making it age based is the answer.

There's no way this is accurate unless McGarry is the third or fourth piece in the trade. If anything, McGarry could be a return for, like, Sogard or Hudson, but not for f***ing Marcus Stroman.

lol... it's exactly what you're saying, it's likely for Sogard or Hudson, or Galvis, Philly loved Galvis.

You'd think even for Galvis/Sogard they could get a better return than McGarry.

Who I have absolutely no knowledge on aside from the research I've done in the last 15 min.

Just because McGarry was pitching doesn't mean they were scouting him. He seems exceptionally s*****.

edit: And McGarry got rocked, so hopefully if they were scouting that is the end of that.

Well, that's what Brandon J. Sommermann thinks, lol. Who is this guy some Flyer blogger, definitely nothing to see here.

Just mentioned Braves Scouts and Boston scouts in attendance watching Giles.

I put any money on the Braves swinging an AA Blockbuster for Stroman, Giles, and Sogard for prospects!!!

I hope you guys realize that trades for top assets are very rarely 1 for 1. If you think Stroman is being traded for a package centered around Seth McGarry you need to reevaluate your baseball knowledge.

I think you guys should readjust your expectations for the return on Stroman. It seems like management is desperate to trade the guy. I wouldn't be shocked if we got Pivetta and some scrubs.

Lol...

I could see something like Stroman and Hudson for VV, Medina, and Haseley. Not sure what I think about it, but I could certainly see it.

Ewwwwww... why would the Jays do that? Extend Stroman then... lol.

Jays looking for Archer like return for Stro?

This isn't new, correct?
