Axford was actually having a better season (before he was traded) than Daniel Hudson is having this year (ERA be damned)....let that sink in for a second.

So the score came out with a prediction today, and obviously their guess is pretty much as good as ours. What would you guys think of this though?

 

Stroman + Giles for Kiriloff + Graterol/Balazovic

I would think the Twins would be more likely to trade Larnach and Balazovic, not Kirilloff and Graterol, but if I'm packaging Stro/Giles together, then the latter would have to be it. I still think Atkins trades them separately, but with Giles' injury, maybe combining the two would be better than trading them individually. Teams might be reluctant to trade for Giles alone given his injury, but packaged with Stroman they might be more willing to take that risk.

If the return for Cashner is any indication, we wont be getting much for Stroman.

 

Luckily, Cashner and Stroman are not even remotely comparable.

It's still an indicator that we should expect to be disappointed with the return.

 

Well, one is good at pitching and the other is not. One is a hot commodity, the other was not. And one has an extra year of control, the other was a rental.

It clearly is. It provides an indicator of the overall landscape for returns on pitchers being dealt at the TDL. If you don't understand that, you've got some serious issues. Some people just don't "get it", and you are one of them.

The fact that a contender actually processed paperwork to get Andrew Cashner pitching for their team in a major league game is shocking, and if anything indicates that the market for pitching is as healthy as ever.

Homer and Cashner are not the same. As much as I dislike Stroman he the lack of starting pitching available at the deadline should mean good things for the Jays.

Cashner - 1.5 WAR in 101 innings

Bailey - 1.6 WAR in 96 innings

 

No contender would look forward to starting either in a playoff game.

 

You must mean they are not the same as Stroman (which is obvious).

While the Cashner/Stroman comparison was ridiculous, lets not go overboard. Cashner is still a reliable back of the rotation type guy.
