jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 I'm going to need some clarification here. Did he die or pass away from taking the drugs?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Taking drugs isn't a choice? If the club was aware of illegal drug use and did nothing, legally the club has liability ie. a portion of the blame. Sorry, in such a case, it is not entirely 100% on Skaggs.

Sorry, in such a case, it is not entirely 100% on Skaggs. Don't you think that we victimise the drug abusers, by turning them victims of institutions. I remember when I was younger, crack addicts were portrayed as people who destroyed their own life. Today however it feels like everyone is a victim. I dont know I look at this and read, He knew: He was taking drugs he wasn't prescribed. He knew that they are capable of doing harm He further decided that we would drink while on the illegal drugs. If a Doctor had prescribed him the medication and told him not to drink while on them, would we still be having the same conversation.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 What did Barkerfan do to get banned anyway? He shared unpopular opinions?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Passed away and died are technically synonyms. Definition and connotation are different things though. This is actually an important thread in this regard and it should be stickied before it passes away. god this post is amazing i used to be so good at stuff

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Im still trying to figure out which posts didnt age well. Seems like theyre all fine and in the exact same condition as they were when they were posted.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Not opinion..... fact. Looking back through a few pages, it’s all talking about the diff between “passed away” and “died”, what are you spiking the football over?
FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 It's a little odd that Steamer has still posted a projection for the 2022 season for Skaggs. At what point will they end any such projection?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 It sounds as if the opioids may have been supplied by a team employee, but the responsibility is 100% on the person who took them. It's so sad to see that players still don't know any better. Hopefully this tragedy will wake some people up. This needs to be quoted, just to help Grant, going forward.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 This needs to be quoted, just to help Grant, going forward. Jim, serious wtf is wrong with you? Yes, dealing drugs is illegal and can land someone in jail for a long time sometimes. That doesn’t do anything to negate the quoted opinion

Criminal responsibility can be spread around with letting anyone off the hook. Take the Raider WR. Maybe someone gets in trouble for over-serving him but that isn’t letting the guy off the hook for killing the chick. Someone else’s mistake doesn’t take away personal responsibility
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Actually I’ll concede defeat to you Jim bc that’s the way the world is headed. Your way. So you’re the victor more every day

They are one and the same.
