The Atlantic League is at it again with more rule changes.

– Pitchers will now be required to step off of the rubber when attempting a pick-off.

– One foul bunt with two strikes is permitted before a strikeout is called.

– Batters are allowed to “steal” first base on any pitch not caught in flight…in short, the “dropped third strike” rule extends to the entire at-bat.

– The check swing rule becomes more “batter friendly.”

The 3rd one.... WTF...........

Huh, that's kind of interesting.

It seems like MLB really wants to promote higher scores, because everything they've been trying seems to benefit the hitters.

Yeah that third one is weird. What if it's a 1-0 count and the ball gets by the C and the batter takes off for 1st but the Catcher recovers and throws the ball to 1st before the batter makes it? Does the AB continue or is that an out?

Out is Out so in the scenario he went for it

My question would be what if he did not

If I am a catcher I am not catching pitches and then tagging batters out if they are Live since I never caught the ball in flight !

And multiple teams getting a Friday off, right before the All Star break

Good work, kill off the most likely working week night when fans might opt to go to a game...

Could we just pretend we discussed these weird ass rules and move on?

Obviously. I don't think the casual fan or non fan attending a game appreciates a well pitched game. The same people who will ooh and aah at a lazy flyball to the outfield.

People want to see balls in play! The foul bunt rule and the check swing rule are designed to cut down on strikeouts.

I mean for NL pitchers sure, but do we think more players will bunt with 2 strikes now if that rules gets traction? Hrm....I wonder what they could do if they don't like seeing pitcher's strike out so often.....hrmmmmm

Corbin Martin out with Tommy John surgery. Another significant blow to the Astros pitching depth.

Reminder not to trade for pitching prospects, unless they are the add ons.

Maybe I’m wrong but isn’t leukaemia one of the worst cancers? Like how can he possibly pitch again this season?

Roman Reigns in WWE was also diagnosed with leukaemia and was back in a couple of months.

There are different forms of it but a lot of them are highly treatable.

TIL. Always thought it was basically a death sentence.

Also, Max Scherzer is f***ing ridiculous.

Just another 10+ K performance, the day after he returns from paternity leave. If he stays healthy through the year he's well on his way to another Cy Young and at that point he's gotta be a lock for the Hall of Fame imo.
