It’s not all the owners faults. Reports are Kris Bryant turned down an extension worthbover 200 million to hopefully make more. Harper turned down 300 million. Grandal turned down 60 million with the Mets. Harvey turned down an extension in 2016. Keuchel turned down 90 million in 2016.

 

Probably many more out there as well but players are greedy and expecting more. They take the risk and it eithers pays off or it doesn’t.

Wow. I don't know if 2017 was the beginning of the end for Dozier (2nd basemen have a history of falling off the cliff), but this guy has averaged 3.75 WAR/yr over the past 6 years. $9M on a 1 year deal is a f***ing steal with little to no risk.
