We dumped Urshela. The Yanks picked him up, gave him a leg kick and now he's worth more than our entire offence. So that hurts.

Maybe the yanks are better at developing talent.

No resemblance of a plan at the plate whatsoever. Who the f*** is this new hitting coach we have? It almost feels like that the fact that he can communicate more easily to the Latinos gave him a leg up in the hiring process. It's the end of May and there has been nothing. Got to love the Shatkins process.

Non-underwhelming players on this team:

- Stroman

- Giles

- Thornton

Let's be honest, this team has no future.

I remember thinking all off-season, hey, no matter how bad the Jays do it'll be exciting watching the kids all play.

Well, it's not even June and this young team is depressing me. Ugh. It's hard to see the big picture.

You can look forward to Gurribabip probably setting the record for worst jays season of all time, and helping us battle BAL/MIA/KC/SF for #1!

I'll give you credit, no matter how utterly stupid that nickname is, and no matter how many times people tell you it's literally the worst nickname anyone has ever come up with for anyone or anything, you absolutely don't know when to just give it the f*** up.

I thought Jansen was going to progress this year quite a bit, but he's negative war so far.

Giles has to fetch us a pretty big haul at this point right, top 3 reliever in the league

A contender would have two postseason runs with him, which is a pretty valuable commodity.

But a contender would likely have a good closer already, which makes Giles their setup guy.

Specifically fishing for a top 100 prospect arm from a team that needs a closer could be a tall order, especially when guys like Kimbrel can be had for just money.

In the right scenario though, I think Giles could fetch a very pretty penny. But just be prepared the return may or may not be a pitcher coming back. Sometimes they’ll have to get BPA rather than fill a need.

There are quite a few contenders who have a clear need at the back end of their pen. MIN/PHI/ATL/CHC/BOS all could use Giles and there is only one Kimbrel to go around. A top 100 guy and another lower level prospect is what I expect them to get in return if they move him.

If it gets Gurriel to hit like he has these past few games, he can continue as far as I'm concerned. XD

Couldn’t help wondering if San Diego called up naylor to showcase to us as a potential headliner in a trade.

I looked over San Diego’s depth chart; we line up well with them in terms of needs:

they could really use a high leverage reliever and a couple of young veteran number 2/3 types to anchor their rotation. Heck they even need middle infield depth.

I wonder what are the chances of another legacy trade between the two teams.

Giles, stro, Sanchez and sogard for naylor, Baez plus plus plus plus

I figure San Diego only has so many roster spots to go around. There’s a time value to prospects, eventually their management will get squeezed. They kind of have to make a big splash. Plus they’re loaded with sp prospects. And they’re notoriously cheap. and our main Assets are all cost controlled. And naylor is blocked. And San Diego is in win now mode and they don’t have the years to invest in sorting out their mountain of top pitching prospects.

On paper it looks like a perfect storm for an epic ten player trade.

Stroman to San Deigo continues to make sense.

Toronto would get more if they deal Giles and Stroman separately. Giles should get an awful lot of action.

I don't see anyone being all that interested in Aaron Sanchez. Big injury red flags and the performance has not been great.

My preference would be to trade players separately. I agree that it tends to bring back more value.

I would much rather extend Stroman than trade him.

Giles to SD, would that be enough to bring back a couple of really solid prospects? I'd want a good, young SP for sure. NO MORE INFIELDERS.

If we could not target a 1st/DH bat with limited power - that would be awesome.

But he gets those maple boners throbbing

"OMG! he came out of a vagina in the same country I live in - that's so amazing! We need more people like that on my favourite baseball team. I feel more pride for him than I do for those other ****s who came out of vagina's in different countries. f*** them."

I would think so. San Diego got a consensus top 20 prospect (Francisco Mejia) for Brad Hand last deadline. There have been a number of large returns for elite relievers in recent years. A superb prospect or a package of solid prospects is not out of the question.

Giles is controllable for 2020 IIRC.

Put Biggio in a Dodger uniform, and he's Cody Bellinger.

Same kind of body, and both hit the ball like beasts.

I agree, just take the best package and run. Plus Vlad should work like Cialis on those maple boners

Wow, Bellinger is already at 4.9 bWAR. He could cruise past a 10 win season.

If he can turn on a 93mph fastball like he did for the HR and curl it barely inside the foul pole, he can turn on anyone's fastball.

Also it was an upper decker, which is even more impressive

Man - who saw that coming? what an incredible breakout.
