Shatkins deserves a ton of credit for that Happ contract. He was the guy that was essentially brought in to replace David Price and arguably out performed him for 3 years at a fraction of the cost. Very successful contract and now we get a return of prospects for their investment as well. Edited by Jonn

Praying Drury isn’t one of those 2 pieces unless the other is Sheff or Frazier

lol you're gonna be vastly disappointed

Another source just told me that the Yankees and Blue Jays are “close“ to finishing a Happ deal.

Would much rather have McKinney than Drury, and I'm not a fan of either of them.

I reckon it's both if it is a 2 for 1

I wouldn't mind Swanson throws a lot of strikes and gets strikeouts has performed well this year. Probably a future reliever but he might be a back end type. I would like to think we are going to get at least one top 10 guy though.

I mean Drury has mashed at AAA. He's been bad in the bigs, but if he can ever figure it and get past that AAAA player he can be a useful big leaguer

I think there's a bit more hate for Drury than I understand. He's pretty interesting.

You just like him because hes hot.

If Drury did not have any MLB service and was like a year or so younger, then I'd be fine with it, but isn't he arb eligible after this season? I don't see the point.

If you think he sucks anyway, what's the concern about money? s***** players aren't expensive.

idk he's under control through 2021 and on the cheap. With our current roster construction he should have a place to play in the bigs, that part isnt that big of a deal.

He had 2 full seasons in Arizona. The results were very meh.

I actually agree. I don't think he'll ever be a star, but he could be at least average while providing some versatility for the next few years. There's some untapped hitting ability there I think.

From what I can see, his peripherals are fine. Gets the ball in the air 60% of the time, hits it hard, walk and k rates were fine but he had a .211 babip. He could be a perfectly serviceable player, especially given our need for IF.

Not about the money, but years of control. Three years of Drury when at least 1 if not 2 of those years are going to be bad is kind of pointless. WOuld rather have guys with six years of control left or still in the minors with upside.

I agree with the non Drury haters. I don't think he's great or anything but not as bad as some are making it out to be.

Hes Super 2 eligible I believe if he finishes the rest of the year in the Big Leagues.
