glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Two players for Happ with one being Drury? That second player better be damn good.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Heyman says the deal is being finalized. Yeah it seems like an announcement is imminent.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Drury may just be the known piece, not the centrepiece, let's wait and see
jerb Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Kory Indzeoski @The_Indyman Replying to @BVHJays Swanson, McKinney both are scratched....hmm
TheRustler Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Praying Drury isn’t one of those 2 pieces unless the other is Sheff or Frazier
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 (edited) Shatkins deserves a ton of credit for that Happ contract. He was the guy that was essentially brought in to replace David Price and arguably out performed him for 3 years at a fraction of the cost. Very successful contract and now we get a return of prospects for their investment as well. Edited July 26, 2018 by Jonn

TheRustler Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 lol you're gonna be vastly disappointed I just don’t want anything to do with Drury. He’s truly awful.

LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I'd actually be quite alright with Mckinney being one of the pieces. Drury I can do without
jerb Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Andy Martino Verified account @martinonyc Source says Happ to Yankees not quite done but will get done

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Would much rather have McKinney than Drury, and I'm not a fan of either of them.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I think there's a bit more hate for Drury than I understand. He's pretty interesting.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Kory Indzeoski @The_Indyman Replying to @BVHJays Swanson, McKinney both are scratched....hmm I wouldn't mind Swanson throws a lot of strikes and gets strikeouts has performed well this year. Probably a future reliever but he might be a back end type. I would like to think we are going to get at least one top 10 guy though.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I mean Drury has mashed at AAA. He's been bad in the bigs, but if he can ever figure it and get past that AAAA player he can be a useful big leaguer
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I think there's a bit more hate for Drury than I understand. He's pretty interesting. You just like him because hes hot.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 If Drury did not have any MLB service and was like a year or so younger, then I'd be fine with it, but isn't he arb eligible after this season? I don't see the point.

I don't see the point. If you think he sucks anyway, what's the concern about money? s***** players aren't expensive.

I don't see the point. idk he's under control through 2021 and on the cheap. With our current roster construction he should have a place to play in the bigs, that part isnt that big of a deal.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I think there's a bit more hate for Drury than I understand. He's pretty interesting. I actually agree. I don't think he'll ever be a star, but he could be at least average while providing some versatility for the next few years. There's some untapped hitting ability there I think.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I mean Drury has mashed at AAA. He's been bad in the bigs, but if he can ever figure it and get past that AAAA player he can be a useful big leaguer From what I can see, his peripherals are fine. Gets the ball in the air 60% of the time, hits it hard, walk and k rates were fine but he had a .211 babip. He could be a perfectly serviceable player, especially given our need for IF.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 If you think he sucks anyway, what's the concern about money? s***** players aren't expensive. Not about the money, but years of control. Three years of Drury when at least 1 if not 2 of those years are going to be bad is kind of pointless. WOuld rather have guys with six years of control left or still in the minors with upside.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 He’s AAAA fodder at best. What did you think of Josh Donaldson at 25?
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 I agree with the non Drury haters. I don't think he's great or anything but not as bad as some are making it out to be.

I don't see the point. Hes Super 2 eligible I believe if he finishes the rest of the year in the Big Leagues.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 If Drury is the main piece, Shatkins will get ripped by the fans. Doesn't make sense.
