*two women

The first article was written by a woman, and this follow-up was written by a different woman.

It's a site dedicated to advanced statistics. Why not hire capable women to write about that? Are there none?

I looked at all of her articles and not one of them was about stats. It was all horseshit stuff like this or "What If Baseball Had a Penalty Box?"

Check this out LOL:

The idea of a woman playing in Major League Baseball means something to me. It stirs something. I long for it, in a way that is embarrassing to talk about in my place of work, which this is, but those are my stakes.

We have Fangraphs and Rotographs. Can't wait for the sister site, Wokegraphs where we get to see the latest woke takes from the baseball community.

Where is their new park going?

Right next to the old one I believe. It's where Jerry Jones put his stadium too. The city of Arlington cuts the owner's sweetheart deals to attract them to the city. Arlington is right in between Ft. Worth and Dallas, both of which are pretty fun times. Arlington though is kind of a downtrodden suburb.

I can't believe this s*** made its way to Fangraphs of all places. A site devoted to nerds without a modicum of social awareness or tact.

I first started reading Fangraphs just to see on-base percentages. I can't believe I have to read this s*** on a site that should be just spreadsheets. Now it's borderline clickbait trying to produce a huge comment section.

Just ignore the articles. In fairness though, to get official stats data (especially with real time stuff and cutting edge data) is very expensive in general. They do need to keep attracting people to the site to make it sustainable, especially as MLB likely keeps jacking up the data prices.

Holy f***, I just realized actual misandrist Jen Mac Ramos was cited in the original article. Her twitter is full of flat our hateful tweets about men. And FG wonders why certain people found that the article was accusatory.

Uh, ok. That doesn't mean that you should be citing people like this:

While talking about how sexist baseball is as an institution.

Just trolling ya. It's too bad social media has given a big platform for extremist views.

Jen Mac Ace Neptune Ramos Jinggleheimer Schmidt looks exactly like you'd think she would based on her opinions.

Does she look like a crusty, old hoo-er?

I'm looking forward to Jezegraphs, dedicated to deconstructing the cissexist heteropatriarchy in baseball.

The way things are going, I feel like the execs in MLB need to start undergoing periodic testing just like the players. Except this time they are testing for soy products.

I really hate saying this but I can't ignore the evidence...why is it that every time women enter a community, they feel this urge to change it to suit their whim? Baseball is largely watched by men, and played by men. You can have input but stop trying to force your stupid overly sensitive ******** on the sport.

Might be poised for a breakout year

You joke, but I've been wondering for awhile if he has 1-2 seasons of a 200+ wRC+ in him. He's only 26, and we could well see another gear offensively, if only for a short time.

If the writer of that article were serious she would have written about a woman becoming a GM (which will likely happen eventually) or written about the accomplishments of Kim Ngo. Instead she writes about the first woman to play baseball, a person who likely isn't alive yet. Fangraphs is losing it!

Had to look - Bonds had 4 seasons over 200

It would be interesting if he's made a conscious effort to strike out less. I watched a Joey Votto interview and he said that last year he set a goal to hit .350 with an OBP over .500 (or something like that) and the stats suggested to do that, he'd have to cut his K% way down.....so that's what he did/tried to do. He did cut his K% last year, but it didn't help him reach his goals.

Holy s***?!

She's a legitimately terrible person, both hateful and bigoted. The hypocrisy required for Meg Rowley, Managing Editor of HBT, to write an article about meanness in the community while at the same time employing someone like Ramos, is absolutely mind-blowing.

What do you do if you're one of the unlucky men who doesn't have any close friends who goes around raping women? How do we prove we're not terrible human beings
Posted

Nats considering Harper at the leadoff spot and the Yanks are trying out Judge/Stanton 1 + 2 in their order vs. LHP.

We'll see if this materializes in the regular season, but could we finally be seeing a breakthrough from traditional lineups? Managers actually using facts to make informed decisions?

While this article and the twitter remarks , is no example of the majority of women that love sports. Her remarks are beyond distasteful, but why is it that someone always has to start yelling about "Gay" because she loves baseball. Her article has a point, but it is missed in the automatic reflexive action that women have no place and if they do make it, then they should abide by the rules men have set. Young men seem to take it as a personal insult that a woman should want to play a game that they love. Why is that? Why is it wrong to just want a playing field that is fair for all?

Young women these days are bigger, stronger, and more driven than ever before. Do you ever wonder where this attitude from women comes from? It comes from always being told they are not good enough, or go play your own games, or you throw like a girl. And they are not being told that by other young women. Will a woman ever make the MLB? Probably if they can ever throw a fastball 90mph, and have a devastating curve. But chances are slim, but that should not diminish their effort.

Attitudes need to change, and it is not to make everything nice. It is that every one's daughter should have the opportunity to play if they are good enough, without being tagged with "gay", or how they look. There are some pretty ugly men playing baseball, but where are the comments about them. No one cares as long as they are good, and that same rule to should apply to women.

Some of you have or will have daughters, and I can guarantee you will not like the attitudes that your daughters will face every day. And that is the message that a woman took from the article.

Bigotry is power+privilege. That's usually how they get around that stuff, because apparently women don't have power already.

This argument is f***ing stupid. Almost nobody is saying girls shouldn't be allowed to play pro baseball. If they are, they are dumb. They are saying it is incredibly unlikely that a girl will be good enough to play pro baseball.

If it happened, great! There would be literally nothing but upside for the MLB to have a woman make it purely on talent. It should not be their priority to 'manufacture' it, because that would do more harm than good.

You clearly don't follow or participate in our annual "Top 25 Hottest Blue Jays" thread....speaking of which, it's time guys. Time for us to tell one another which members of the Blue Jays make our members move and who are so ugly that Mama June wouldn't touch after she's blown up another bathroom.
