Sam Weatherly Unlikely to sign

Weatherly plans to maintain his commitment to play baseball at Clemson University, even after the Toronto Blue Jays selected him in the 27th round of the Major League Baseball draft.

"I'm very excited to go down to Clemson," said Weatherly, a left-handed pitcher who was taken 819th overall. "I'm looking forward to being in the ACC and playing for coach (Monte) Lee. That's also another big dream of mine, so I'm really looking forward to that."

The journey for Cheshire starts tomorrow as he travels down to Florida for a week to be evaluated further by the team. He will be given a physical and upon successful completion of that he will partake in drills. After the week is over the Blue Jays organization will place him in either Vancouver, with the Short Season Single A team affiliate, or in West Virginia, with the Rookie Ball team affiliate.
