Which late round guys will be the toughest signs, highest upside?

The big one is prep RHP Daniel Ritcheson. He's the only Top 200 guy they drafted after the 4th round.

Kevin Smith will sign.

Smith said he'll sign with the Blue Jays and forego his senior year at Maryland, though the sides hadn't yet come to terms. MLB assigned the 129th pick with value of $405,100. Smith said he didn't know yet whether he'll get that much.

Physical of Friday, expects to sign by Saturday.

Any chance we get Warmoth and Pearson under slot and then go over slot to get Danner and Adams? Front office is fairly risk averse. I would think that they wouldn't pick anyone in the upper rounds unless they were sure they could sign him.

Danner concerns me a bit. Picked UCLA because he wants to be closer to family and also has said that he would love to get the college experience. Hopefully we can sign him. One of the higher upside picks in the draft.

Anyone drafted within the first 10 rounds is expected to sign. We are the only team from the past few years who somehow made it a habit of failing to sign high draft picks.

There were actually only two prospects in the entire first 10 rounds from last year's draft that didn't sign. That takes into account all 30 teams. The draft has changed over the past couple seasons and it should be a huge shock if anybody in the first 10 rounds doesn't sign.

Yeah, barring weird injury results on physicals.

I found this blurb on DJ Neal. Seems like a poor man's Alford! The blurb is from 2015.

Plus speed, defense, arm. Bat speeeeeed.

Dexter "DJ" Neal is a 2015 OF with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Lithonia, GA who attends Stephenson HS. Tall, lean, wiry, highly athletic frame with plus speed. Quick twitch type of player. Ran a 6.66 60 yard dash. Makes acrobatic plays in the outfield and has plus range. Has an outstanding, plus throwing arm from the outfield and makes accurate throws to the plate. Talented defensive player. Bats right-handed, works from a wide setup and flashes major bat speed. Drives the ball to his pull side and has big life off his barrel. Has present power to the middle of the field and has a simple, repeatable swing path. Gets excellent extension. Highest upside, exciting talent. Named to Top Prospect list.

Ok, the rounds 11-40 wishlist for me is:

Sellers, Halter, Neal, Ritcheson, Weatherly, Farriss.

What are the odds of Sellers and Neal signing? Hopefully good.

Odds seem reasonably good. Sellers could always go back for his Sr year but being picked in the 11th round seems like a good result for him - it's a pretty strong display of belief by Toronto.

Neal has twitter and is retweeting a bunch of congratulations. He also tweeted this but then deleted "blessed to be drafted by Toronto, the next chapter of my life has started"

Kacy Clemens should be a fun guy to watch. Reasonable power, pretty decent K:BB. Likely busts a season or two in but who knows.

I always enjoy watching over age players beat on a league and then watch people get excited about it because they're unaware of the context and then when they struggle at age appropriate levels seeing fans hopes crushed is where I then take pleasure.

He's dying to dive into world civ , macroeconomics, and cheerleaders.

f*** I don't blame him - although I expect there are a lot of whores available to the minor league ballplayers too.

Well that's kinda warped now isn't it. To each their own. Big fan of Bradley Jones are you?

Astros had the biggest fail with Aiken at #1 overall in 2014

But it ended up working out for them anyway (Alex Bregman)
