HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Quick glance and notes: -AL East has best pitching based on team average -I wonder who on the Jays rotation is rated the worst - Happ? -I wonder if Red Sox #'s includes Price. -Severino has fallen off the cliff
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 So only the Cubs, Dodgers and Red Sox are better than Toronto. This graph completely ignores depth, which is pretty irresponsible (although predicting how injuries will affect outcomes is incredibly difficult in it's own right).
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Where would SRF fall on the SP depth?

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 What are they going to do about the bullpen? its pretty s*****.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Runners on 1st and Second no one out Travis up Donaldson on Deck Bautista to follow How do you not bunt????
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Runners on 1st and Second no one out Travis up Donaldson on Deck Bautista to follow How do you not bunt???? Perhaps Gibby felt that Travis was good enough to cash them in and go for a big inning? And it's true. When Travis is healthy he's a good hitter that uses all fields.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I think you have to get your big bats in a position to deliver the big hit. At that point in the game, you have scored nothing. There is also a high likely hood that Travis GIDP and ends that opportunity. Bautista was a big disappointment there too.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Runners on 1st and Second no one out Travis up Donaldson on Deck Bautista to follow How do you not bunt???? I am hit or miss here. You defiantly take the bat out of JDs hands who is our best hitter and that is never a great choice, because there is no way they are going to throw him anything good.

Stop replying to the Dogg bro, he's trolling your ass.

At least we'll have someone in AAA for a spot start.. but really, we need better options in the minors. Hopefully those guys in AA New Hampshire move quickly.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Another great video of Donaldson talking about hitting mechanics. Basically another coach on the field.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Pearce hitting lead off tonight. The transformation to Gibby 2.0 has been good so far.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Pearce hitting lead off tonight. The transformation to Gibby 2.0 has been good so far. yeah but Travis is not playing. Seems a bit concerning.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Ballslinger cleared waivers https://twitter.com/Panikkar37/status/850046930931646464 That's awesome and is a best case scenario. I'm glad they waived him now as sneaking him through to Buffalo allows him to be stretched out and ready to start in case of an injury. Thanks for sharing that tweet I've been wondering what would happen.
ChrisS Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Is Travis injured again or not playing because of the turf?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Is Travis injured again or not playing because of the turf? Just by reading twitter it is just a day off. Would not be surprised if they baby him for the first month or so.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Latest from Heyman: https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/inside-baseball-al-indians-next-extension-target/ Toronto Blue Jays -Angel Pagan appears to be a consideration for them. Their outfield looks like it could use some help from a depth perspective. Pagan turned down at least one majors deal earlier (but it was for well below his original $5 million asking price). -Chris Coghlan was a nice pickup on a minors deal after he declined to sign the Phillies’ request of a 45-day advance consent to be released at their wish anytime in the first 45 days. -The Jays are still considering backup catchers. Jarrod Saltalamacchia broke camp as the second catcher. They’ve been looking around for a second string backstop. -With Roberto Osuna out, Joe Biagini and Jason Grilli are the closing candidates.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Kenny is reporting Pagan has turned down 2 major league offers. Sounds like he still wants $5M. Damn him and his gorgeous hair.

Hair maintenance is costly... so you got to give the man a break... We should tell him it is easier to handle in colder northern weather then coastal weather, maybe our jays get hair conditions discount

Maahfaace Verified Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 I think in 2.5 to 3 million range is what he'll end up getting. Holding out longer will probably just cost him more coin in the end.
