I wonder if Bautista will retire. I hope he does. He's very bad now, and nobody wants to see him as one of those guys who spends his last few years going from team to team trying to latch on in a part time role.

I'd think he'd be at least thinking about it. He's very confident in himself and I couldn't see him staying around to embarrass himself if he is a shell of his former self.

He's probably my all-time favorite player and watching him suck this hard isn't fun. I hope he retires a Jay after this season as well. Would beat watching him hit .200 for the Marlins next year.

While I'm at it I'd also like to make some changes to the booth as well. Dump Tabler, bring on Schulman full-time or close to it, move Buck to a commentator role and then sign a retired Jose Bautista as an additional full-time commentator.

Shulman's leaving Sunday night broadcasts, but hinted at doing just home games for Toronto. Not a bad deal for our fans... :P

That would work. Fire Tabler and bring Bautista on. Buck and Bautista could do the road games and Schulman, Bautista and Buck could do the home games. :P

When did he do that? Last I saw he's still with ESPN and going to do the regular amount of Jays games but just spend more time with his new Wife.

He announced it a while back, no more ESPN, his last year. Will do more extensive work with RSN home games only. For the same reasons, his family.

Here's his leaving ESPN stuff...

Wow, staying on topic, Peter Mansbridge looks so different with a beard. He's on Tim and Sid.

Watching now as well. Mansbridge is a class act. One of the best journalists/news anchors of our time. Definitely a Canadian icon.

Terrible pitcher Tanner Roark gets Washington to the bottom of the 7th with a 3-run lead over the Cubs, and Dusty Baker leaves him out there to give up 2+ runs even though was over 90 pitchers. I get it if its someone who is actually good, but why not quit while you're ahead and let Kintzler/Madson/Doolittle close it out?

Lol especially since you literally just traded for all of these bullpen arms

To be fair he's not terrible, just perfectly average and not better than any of the guys you mentioned, certainly not with the TTO penalty applied to him. Dusty Baker is such a bad manager.

Yeah, he's a perfectly cromulent SP4. I just always cringe when managers get 6 strong from the Roarks and Vargases of the world then leave them in with a small lead because they haven't hit 100 pitches.

How long before Florida trades him? He'll be making 25+ Million going forward for the next 11 years.

We got money coming off the books and a vacant RF position.

Chance they try to trade him in the offseason as his salary jumps up $10.5m.

He's got a full no trade clause though.

Bartolo Colon with a complete game, 20 years after his first.

I didn't even know anyone had picked him up
