jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I didn't realize how good the Dodgers record was until I checked the NL standings. 73-31, .702, that's incredible! Blue Jays need to play .700 ball the rest of the way if they want to sniff the postseason.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 4.15 FIP, 5.93 xFIP from this outing. It wasn't his most impressive by any stretch. It's because of the intentional walk lol. Morrow was nasty, he could have easily retired Belt.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I don't get that by Roberts. Baez' is a boss.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 26 year old who began the year at AA making his debut with the game on the line. Cool stuff, but also nerve racking for that poor guy.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 And he WINS. THE. f***ING. GAME. Baseball is f***ing amazing!
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 That's f***ing awesome. Good for that dude.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Not sure why you are talking about carter. I'll assume you are drunk I think he is acknowledging that Beltre better than Schmidt, goes against the numbers, kind of like Carter better than Bautista. Schmidt is 100+ WAR, 2400 games, Beltre 80ish WAR 2700 games, according to the robots.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 With Lucroy going for a player to be named later, the contracts of EE and JB etc, I bet the MLBPA is s***ing its pants right now. With the Morenos and Amaros of the world gone, no one is willing to pay anything for players on the wrong side of 30. Whether that's in contracts or prospect capital. At this pace Donaldson might not even get a $100M contract when his time comes.

He returned a PTBNL because he's absolutely terrible.

Darvish will be a better indicator for the worth attached to 30 year olds both in the trade return for his rental, and the contract he gets in the offseason.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Dexter Fowler is the same age as Lucroy and got over $80mm last winter. I mean, when you have a wrc+ of 66, you can't expect a huge trade market.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Dombrowski pillaging another farm system TBH there's not much left to pillage beyond Devers, who ain't going anywhere. You gotta figure one of Groome or Chavis is going the opposite direction, probably Chavis.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 It's Jamie Callahan, Gerson Bautista, and Stephen Nogosek to the Mets in the agreement for Addison Reed.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I have no idea who any of these guys are. Bautista - RHP Big arm, no control in A+ Callahan - RHP Big Arm struggled with control will be a reliever probably going to get called up this year or next. Nogosek - RHP Is probably the best piece and has a good 3 pitch mix to be a starter but I think the sox have him as a reliever It's a great trade for the Mets.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 what a difference a year makes with the deadline market. Very underwhelming returns
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 what a difference a year makes with the deadline market. Very underwhelming returns Even Wilson and Avila netted pretty light returns, they at least got a top 100 prospect out of the deal though.
