WTF???

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Police are investigating after a woman attending a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game at Busch Stadium was struck by a stray bullet.

Police say the 34-year-old victim was inside the ballpark Tuesday during the game against the Milwaukee Brewers when she felt pain in her arm. She went to a first-aid station for treatment. A bullet was later found near her seat.

Police believe the bullet came from outside the stadium.

The Cardinals said in a statement Wednesday that the organization is grateful no one was seriously injured. The statement says nothing is more important than the safety of fans.

Machado is still talking about the slide. This issue was dead until they hit Mookie yesterday. Don't say it wasn't intentional, it was. Just more cleverly disguised than Sale's and Barnes's blatant first pitch attempts.

Yeah I think if Sale wanted to retaliate for the O's hitting Betts, he should have thrown at someone else. Because of the recent history, Machado should have been left out of it this time (it's not like he is their only good hitter). Either way, this tit for tat could continue until someone gets seriously injured, so they need to just cut the crap now.

I think you suspend pitchers 10 games minimum if they deem to be throwing at someone intentionally. Need to rid the game of this stupidity.

or get rid of the DH and lets see how Sale likes being thrown at

If they hit Mookie Betts, Red Sox are hitting Machado. Betts is our best player, Machado is theirs. Eye for an eye. Going after someone like Mark Trumbo or Chris Davis doesn't deliver that message.

Then why did Sale intentionally miss..too scared to actually hit him lol

In the context of Machado having been buzzed behind the head by Barnes just a week ago, I think you target someone else this time. Davis probably laughs it off and the issue dissipates. Now with Machado's tirade, the feud continues at full steam. Also how does throwing at the 2016 MLB HR leader not send a message?

Mark Trumbo is nowhere near as good as Manny Machado. Not by a longshot.

Mark Trumbo is a working class ballplayer and the Orioles put an emphasis on those kinds of guys. I'd target him if I were the Sox.

Because he's the blue collar working class type of player.

When you factor in blue collar based metrics it becomes pretty close.

Yeah the demoralization of losing their working class hero to injury would surely derail the O's season;)

What a stupid mindset. John Farrell is just a vindictive *******. You have two of the dumbest, most miserable pieces of s*** managing these two teams and this is going to happen. Players should start throwing baseballs at Showalter and Farrell tbh. See how these stupid f***s like it.

Farrell was a pitcher, so I guess his excuse is that he's always been on that side of the ball. Showalter was a position player so his only excuse is intelligence.

Given the potential consequences for the batter, I'd have given Barnes 100 games tbh, and 20-50 for anywhere other than the head.

I'd also be suspending and fining the managers hard. I think that would nip the problem in the bud.

There isn't a day that goes by where I wish John Farrell was still managing this team.

I don't think you can give such a harsh suspension for something that can NOT be PROVEN to be intentional. So what do you do when an apparent accidental beaning occurs and leads to serious injury as with the Fiers/Stanton incident? Not suspend him because you perceive no ill intent but suspend the guy where ill intent is perceived/suspected, but no actual injury even occurred?

Agreed, it's to grey an area. Aside from the blatant obvious that's going on now.

Edwin looks like piss, good lord. Contact rate has fallen off a cliff and his strikeout and whiff rates are through the roof.

Gausman apparently hit Bogaerts in the 2nd inning tonight and got ejected.

On a breaking ball that clearly just got away from him.

He's usually a slow starter. Morales is sure not looking too good either so far......
