When I saw his name on Twitter a couple of days ago I wondered if the Jays would have interest based on them signing Guirrel seemingly out of no where. Hope it happens.

 

And I still want Carrera's instagram post to be a goodbye to Jays fans. Still holding out hope.

Here's another little blurb on Mendoza from Feb. 2015, where he was ranked ahead of Norge Ruiz, Lourdes Gurriel, and Cionel Perez:

Mendoza was in Japan in 2014 and the Asian discipline has helped him a lot. He is a possible closer with a 98mph fastball and a violent slider above 84mph. His rivals only bat for .228 in Cuba with 1 HR in 4 seasons. His ability to maintain the ball inside the stadium will provide him more value in the near future.

Guys, I want the season to start now. I thought the offseason wouldn't be that long... i was wrong. So VERY WRONG! :'(

Eddie Butler was designated for assignment. He'd be an interesting guy to take a shot on. Would provide us with some SP depth, and the talent is there for a lot more.

If he were to pitch for us, at any point, I just might have to say the season is over.

Eddie Butler has some plus pitching tools, and he has an option left. He's a good target.

 

How he has been so bad with multiple plus pitches is a nice riddle for the analysts, and a nice communication problem for upper management to the coaches.
