Signing Blevins would go a long way in restoring confidence in this regime

Given that 1B/DH were addressed relatively cheaply. Given that the Jays weren't able to spend those saving on Fowler, they might as well pay market rate on a LH reliever. Whatever they were willing to give Fowler should more than cover that and leave enough money for a second tier outfielder. Not sure where else they would spend the money at this point.

Just let Loup and Dermody handle the situational lefty stuff. There's lots of nice names left on the RHP market to fill out a high quality pen for the bulk of the innings. I don't want to sink major money into another lefty that probably isn't any better than those two guys anyway.

I believe that Shapiro is overrated

 

His inability to make decisions and take risks destroyed the Indians for a generation plus. He wrongly gets the credit for the Indians success in 2016 when it was the risky Andrew Miller trade that resulted in the Indians success.

 

With him in charge the Indians probably under achieve after all it was Andrew Miller who put them over the top
