Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Do you guys realize what a big break this is. Benoit coming in a wild card game Now it will be Biagini Biagini has been complete s*** in September. Hopefully it means more Cecil.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Well, it was Happ's fault for the s*** escalating for no reason.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Well, it was Happ's fault for the s*** escalating for no reason. What....nothing would have happened if Severino didn't start charging the plate.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 What....nothing would have happened if Severino didn't start charging the plate. What was the point of hitting Headley? Donaldson wasn't even hit intentionally, so there was no point in Happ getting revenge. The Yankees give zero f's now because they are out of it, they have nothing to lose.

It's sending a message to be careful if you are going to come way inside on our MVP.

It's called pride...if you play sports hard you know it doesn't matter the standings or score
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 It's called pride...if you play sports hard you know it doesn't matter the standings or score If Donaldson was hit intentionally, then I'd understand. He wasn't. The Jays had everything to lose by retaliating for an unintentional HBP.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 When did he say that? It might have been back in August. Wasn't worded anywhere nearly as bluntly as I said it.

The Jays had everything to lose by retaliating for an unintentional HBP. Whether he was or wasn't they tried to crowd him inside, so there's reasons to retaliate.

Probably should have let it go once he threw behind but it is what it is. Just happy no one was thrown out or suspended

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Sorry to see Benoit go down, but no one hits our best players without retaliation. f*** that

(Shi Davidi) Uh oh...................................................................................................................................................................................................... Brutal. Honestly I still don't get why Happ threw at Headley. Donaldson got hit on his elbow pad on an inside FB. No harm no foul, free bag (who later scores). He also walked 2 more guys, just a wild start with zero intention.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 With the Grili and Osuna have been throwling lately this is a pretty bad injury. Although maybe this finally makes Gibby use Cecil for a full inning and not just a f***ing batter here and there.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Biagini / Cecil combo is just as good. Force Gibbons to put cecil in against Lefties.... The whole 7th inning regardless of who was up was getting under my skin as is.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Happ is the only guy with balls to back up out batters. Our only other retaliation was Happ as well when Donaldson got hit earlier in the season. And it has nothing to do with the Yanks either, this is a message to the other 28 teams in the majors. But if I had to be 100% honest, I think the umps mishandled that game. A warning should have been issued as soon as the first pitch from Happ was behind Headley. If that was debatable, then Severino should have been ejected for throwing inside to Smoak on his first pitch of the 2nd. Two situations where the Warning-Ejection procedure could have been executed properly and wasn't. I don't give a f*** though, almost all the times a player of ours gets hit with intent or without intent we get warned without a chance to retaliate. Maybe this has to do with Bautista getting hit then both sides being warned immediately, 0 chance to return the favour.
