STLJaysFan's Achievements

  1. Sometimes it's not just the fans at the game that you have to worry about causing problems. I remember back in 2000, a woman was hit with a stray bullet at a Royals game when someone opened fire on Kaufmann Stadium from Interstate 70. And also here in St. Louis, it's dangerous walking to and from Busch Stadium to where your vehicle is parked and our subway is REALLY dangerous also.
  2. Didn't fans also litter the field during the home opener a few years ago against Detroit when Leyland was their manager?
  3. A little off-topic, but when the Blue Jays were out in Seattle recently, a few of us were discussing the show "Frasier". Just the other night, I saw an episode where one of the characters names was "Carlos Delgado" who was a cheesy Latin singer on a cruise ship. I just thought that was funny hearing a Blue Jays player's name on a show we were just talking about.
  4. That's why players like Jeter I don't believe ever got married while they were playing. Going out to different cities on the road with 24 other men and having endless supply of "opportunities", it would be tough to have a faithful relationship or marriage. The players that stay single can have guilt-free fun. Just make sure to double bag it, right Edwin!!
  5. Globe Life doesn't seem like a very intimidating place for a visiting team, even in the playoffs. I didn't feel as nervous when the Blue Jays went to Texas down 2-0 last year as I would if they were going to Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park. Even the team itself doesn't seem very intimidating even as the "best" team in the American League. The Rangers just don't have that playoff mojo that other teams have. They could have 105 wins and it wouldn't feel like a big deal. I guess because they've never won anything. Teams like the Cardinals who will sneak in with 80-something wins will then go on a tear and beat teams that are better than them on paper. Some teams know how to win in the playoffs, and some teams are just the Rangers. They don't strike much fear even if they win their division. They remind me of Oakland when they were frequently in the playoffs and never did anything or Minnesota too.
  6. I have a personal experience with being accused of throwing something at a sporting event. Me and a high school friend from Detroit were at the Scottrade Center for a Blues/Red Wings playoff game back in 1998. We were both wearing our Red Wings jerseys which of course pissed off the crowd, but oh well, you're allowed to wear a different team's jersey at a game. Of course, the Red Wings were kicking ass and getting ready to eliminate the Blues yet again, and some Blues fan in our upper section took one of those little cardboard signs that fans bring to the game that says "Let's Go Blues", and he took a sharpie and wrote "Red Wings suck!" and then made it into a paper airplane and threw it down towards the ice. We were sitting right behind him so we saw the whole thing and didn't think much of it at the time. I ended up going to the restroom, and when I came back it was mayhem! There was a police officer in our section cornering my friend and all of the Blues fans were pointing at him/us claiming that we threw the airplane because they were mad that we were Red Wings fans and wanted to gang up on us. My friend was kind of shy so I spoke up on his behalf and told the officer that I was with him. I told the officer that we saw who threw the airplane and if they found it, it would say "Red Wings suck!" Now why would WE write that on a sign and throw it? The officer was a real dickhead and was shoving my friend up against the wall like he was some apprehended thug and pushed his badge into my friend's face letting him know what his badge number was in case we wanted to complain. He was getting assaulted without any "real proof" just a bunch of sore loser Blues fans word for it. The cop said he could take us down to the city jail (yikes!) and fine us $500 for littering with NO PROOF! Finally, some arena employee came out and said we're fine and to let us go back to our seats because they probably looked on surveillance video and saw that it wasn't us. I don't remember if the Blues fan ever got in trouble. We were pissed and went down to the St Louis city police station and complained to their internal affairs department about the officer's attitude (without any evidence) and gave them his badge number, and of course we never heard anything about it again. They're not going to do anything to their own people especially when it's 2 teenagers complaining about police brutality. They probably figured we were exaggerating.
  7. Also, I remember at a Brewers game I was watching on tv, a fan got thrown out of a game by that ******* balkin' Bob Davidson who was the plate umpire, and was ejecting players and coaches all game because his strike zone was terrible. And this fan was sitting behind home plate heckling the umpire and giving him s***, and Davidson kicks him out of the ballpark! You could hear the fan on tv, but I don't think he was using language, he was just being annoying like that fan at Tropicana Field. And the umpire kicked him out. I didn't know fans could get kicked out for arguing balls and strikes!!
  8. Chicken is usually cheaper in the Midwest part of the U.S. But what I'm most interested in is what would be considered grounds for being kicked out of a public venue, like a sporting event? For instance, if someone was just being loud and obnoxious the ENTIRE game but wasn't using any profanity or anything else of a racial or sexist manner, could you kick someone out for JUST being loud and annoying when it's encouraged to make noise at a baseball stadium? What if this same fan yelled "f***" every inning, but then was quiet the rest of the game? And what if this same guy was quiet the entire game, but only yelled "MONKEY" when Jones was up to bat or "SLANT-EYE" when Kim was batting? I remember complaining to an usher at an Expos game at Olympic Stadium when some young kid was yelling the entire game. After a few innings, I had enough and complained, and the usher told me that they "encourage fans to make noise" since they were getting less than 10,000 a game. That's a piss-poor answer to give to someone. So I ended up moving to the other side of the stadium since finding an empty seat was easy, and I could STILL hear the kid from there!
  9. The stereotype is that most black people are poor and since chicken is cheaper than pork and beef, it's considered a delicacy for them. It's actually true here in St. Louis, where you see several chicken places lined up on both sides of the street in areas that are predominantly black. Also, pawn shops and places to get loans are prevalent in these areas as well. You're NOT going to see a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Ferguson, Missouri, that's for sure!
  10. http://i.giphy.com/3oz8xtaCgZfudvYZ2w.gif This is pretty good evidence right here in this link that it was Pagan. He flings the can like a frisbee out of his right hand.
  11. You would think if the police DID have a better image of the thrower, they would release it to the public instead of the grainy videos/pictures that we've been seeing. I'm still surprised that no one in the area either saw the person throwing the beer which would draw your attention while trying to watch a baseball game, or if they did, make a big scene by pointing them out emphatically while they're trying to run out of the section. I'm surprised whoever did it got away so easily especially with a packed house and having to walk past a bunch of people to get out of your own row. You would think someone would say, "hey you're not going anywhere," but I guess no one wanted to get involved because they didn't want to be distracted from the rest of the game by assisting in the apprehension.
  12. Me and my brother went to blue jays games in the early 2000's when attendance wasn't very good. It seemed like every 2 out of 3 games, some fan would run out onto the field. Even though we thought it was funny at the time (we were 15 years younger then), we were surprised that it happened so often at blue jays games especially with attendance in the low 20,000's. Also, we weren't used to all of the heckling when we were in the outfield seats. I remember Ben Grieve got alot of s*** from fans when he played for Tampa Bay and these other drunk fans didn't know what to think when they were heckling Expos Vladimir Guerrero out in right field all game, and then his brother Wilton comes in as a replacement late in the game with the same last name, but different number.
  13. https://www.google.com/amp/news.nationalpost.com/sports/mlb/torontos-most-wanted-man-postmedia-employee-identified-as-alleged-beer-can-tosser-at-jays-game/amp In the 3rd picture in this link, joe pagan is nowhere to be found after being shown drinking a beer from a cup less than a minute beforehand in the 2nd picture. You can see the exact time in the bottom right-hand corner. He left quick, WITH A FULL BEER. Possibly taking a piss after the end of the 7th inning, but it's kind of suspicious with the beer being thrown in his exact vicinity. The rest of the fans must have better bladders or have no reason to leave so quickly. Only the man with the facial hair that was behind him disappeared in one of the photos as well.
  14. That guy that police think is the beer thrower was drinking out of a plastic cup in a different picture. The man that was smiling in my aforementioned post was looking in the opposite direction of the guy they think threw the beer so I don't think that is the guy that did it.
  15. https://www.google.com/amp/deadspin.com/this-is-the-closest-weve-gotten-to-finding-the-beer-thr-1787449226/amp?client=ms-android-verizon There's two close up pictures on this site and I noticed that the guy who is smiling and looking down to his left is visible in the second photo but is nowhere to be found in the first one. Instead in the first photo, the area that looks like it's been vacated by someone where the smiling man is missing, you can see an off-white colored hat behind the person in front with the white hat on backwards left shoulder like someone is ducking down out of view. But the smiling man wasn't wearing a hat and who knows where he disappeared to in the other photo.
