It's amazing that a fan of the big bad Red Sox feels the need to troll us insignificant inferior Canadians. You would think he'd find things more deserving of his time.

Hutch gone

that sucks, Drew Hutchison is a solid #4/5 guy with 2 years of control left( probablyat dirt cheap prices), you need those kinds of guys. Liriano can turn it around and be a better pitcher but a decent piece like Hutch is not worth it.

We got raped

Was Hutch ever going to get another opportunity with the Jays? It didn't seem so.

Hutch in Pittsburgh seems like a good fit. Could see him have success there.

Hutch had 2 years of control with worse numbers than Liriano this year. Hutch at his best is not as good as Liriano.

This is awful although could be another project like Estrada though given the right coaching. Francisco Liriano 6-11 ERA over 6.30 will get lit up in the dome. Would've rather kept Hutchison based on these numbers but time will tell.

Liriano’s ERA w/ Russell Martin Catching: 2.92

Liriano’s ERA w/ All Other Catchers: 4.28

Still projects well (3.57 FIP!) though there are some troubling signs (career low SwStr). Fix the command and he could be an ace again.

Well that's, what, a 3.7 FIP here?

Which is funny cause that's a bit better than what Sanchez projects for lol. Holy f*** do I love this. Rotation next year is gonna be sexy.

Rated 4th(scouting) and 9th(statistically) best Pirates prospect preseason, he's having a somewhat mediocre season in AA though

Have you looked at his past 3-4 seasons? Do some research before you whine about stuff

I did already said I don't like pitchers who don't throw strikes.

Get a decent prospect thrown in a struggling SP swap with the Jays getting the one with a better track record. What's not to like?

2-3. 2012, 2014, 2015 and I'm not sure if in the last CBA Toronto could file for another year because of his missed season in 2013 with TJS when he was on the 60 day DL for the season. Meant this for Wok.

Projections have Hutch at 4.32 xFIP, that's a 5th starter at close to min salaries, its not nothing. Liriano has pitched worse than that this season

I'm pretty sure half the forum hated Sanchez for the exact same reason last year.

Farnsworth's pre-season evaluation of Ramirez.

5. Harold Ramirez, OF

Current Level/Age: High-A/21.6, 5’10/220, R/R

Acquired: Signed in 2011 out of Colombia by PIT for $1.05 million bonus

Previous Rank: 10

Ramirez is a very unique hitter to watch at this stage of his career. His hit tool may already be above-average at the major-league level, but the way it works is awkward to see. To me, it looks like someone took one of the most athletic upper halves in baseball and plopped it on some sort of swiveling rocking chair. Not to downplay his overall athletic ability, since he does have plus raw speed and a (very?) outside chance at sticking in center field. Most likely he ends up a corner outfielder light on arm strength and power but with enough on-base ability to be a well above-average regular, hitting his way into a starting role.

As alluded to above, Ramirez’ legs and hands work on completely different wavelengths, making his raw power pretty untouchable and leaving him looking fooled on a lot of swings. The fun part is his hands and barrel awareness are so good that he can consistently dump balls in the outfield even when he has completely lost his balance over his legs.

In the video above, this manifests itself in a swing on which Ramirez appears to have been punched in the stomach by an invisible fist, hanging on for dear life to make contact, only to square it up and hit a sure single into left field. Major-league pitchers will be able to get him off balance more than he is now, but there’s a special place in the game for hitters with his ability to barrel the ball. Even if he is limited to left field defensively, his hit tool will carry him into a valued job in the big leagues.

Hit: 50/60+/70 Power: 30/35/40 Run: 55/50/55 Field: 50/50/50+ Throw: 45/45/45

Overall: 40/55/65

Well this is all contingent on Liriano remembering how to pitch again. No guarantee he gets back to what he was last year.
