Projections have Hutch at 4.32 xFIP, that's a 5th starter at close to min salaries, its not nothing. Liriano has pitched worse than that this season

How can you mention Hutch projections and not mention that Liriano has better projections? Lol

If we only gave up Hutch....great trade. Liriano will probably be in the pen

I highly doubt Liriano will pitch out of the pen.

This Harold Ramirez guy seems like a solid pickup. #statsScouting

because i was responding to a specific point raised by the poster?

Liriano going forward is a decent bet to pitch better than he has, and the prospect we got seems interesting at first glance atleast.

I'm pretty sure half the forum hated Sanchez for the exact same reason last year.

I'm not banking on the rebound this forum is dreaming about. Therefore the Donaldson s*** comes up again. It is what it is. I have made my peace with that a long time ago.

I like this trade. No SRF. Only Hutchison

I wonder if we're taking all the salary

I'm pretty sure they will if it's only Hutchison

2-3. 2012, 2014, 2015 and I'm not sure if in the last CBA Toronto could file for another year because of his missed season in 2013 with TJS when he was on the 60 day DL for the season. Meant this for Wok.

Thanks. I was wondering about that lost year.

The Toronto Blue Jays acquired left-hander Francisco Liriano and minor-league outfielder Harold Ramirez from the Pittsburgh Pirates for right-hander Drew Hutchison, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.

The reality is that you are usually wrong about things like this. You might want to consider that before being so vocal with your opinions.

Well then just throwing out "s*** deal" without any support of your claim is suddenly ok?

Harold Ramirez alone is probably more valuable than Hutch. This is a salary dump, and I still like Liriano's chance to be good again at some point. The strikeouts and stuff are still there, and he was a viable SP2 as recently as last season.

I posted we got raped before the details of the trade we're known. Once the whole deal was announced no I never hated the Donaldson trade. I just assumed we were giving up a s*** load. A top pitching prospect for sure. Was shocked.

This is fantastic (depending on what we gave up) if true. Also, Liriano had a really great season with Martin catching him. He's also done really well with Cervelli catching. He might be a guy who really needs a good catcher to guide him through a game.

You would say that

Harold Ramirez was buried behind Polanco, Marte, McCutchen, Meadows in Pittsburgh

So be it

He's not buried here

What's wrong with his post? You don't think game calling is a thing?

Russ Martin says he's excited to catch Liriano again. Feels they had great chemistry and is confident he's much better than #s this yr.

I know that. I was just saying why it was easy for them to give him up.

Harold Ramirez > Alford

Harold Ramirez looks a bit like Devon Travis -- short right handed guy, line drive .300 hitter in the minors. Hit like .340 last year.
