I like the Zoik pick. I really like his age for a college guy. He seems like a pick that is both safe and projectable, which is awesome.

 

Woodman lead the SEC in dingers so I'll defer to the scouts and just assume the public reports saying that he has no plus tools are wrong.

 

Bichette looks terrible on video. Bad body, bad face, bad swing. I don't really get that pick buttttttt I only watched one 90 second video so.

From the video he's only nominally a MIF though. He seems fat and slow.

 

Maybe his hands are sweet and the body doesn't matter much.

 

Power also comes with a goofy load and he can't even seem to hit high school fastballs inside.

 

My uninformed prediction is that he's an org guy 3B/LF

"I would say, as a hitter, probably Josh Donaldson. He's really aggressive, swings as hard as he can. That's one of my goals every time I'm hitting, to let it loose. As a defender, someone like Troy Tulowitzki. He plays through-balls all the time, I do that quite a bit. I'd say those two guys."

"I have high hopes. Hopefully it'll be a good night. There are a few teams-- the Rockies, the Blue Jays and Red Sox really like me. There are obviously more, but those are who I thought of."

I wonder why Bo thinks the Jays are best for his development. His brother and father are very aware of what to expect from a minor league development standpoint so there must be some truth to that.

OF Nick Banks profile stood out to me amongst some of the best available, always get intrigued when I see a term like "best pure hitter"

 

"Part of a stellar U.S. collegiate national team outfield with Louisville's Corey Ray and Florida's Buddy Reed last summer, Banks can't quite match their tools, but he did establish himself as the best pure hitter on the squad. He led Team USA in hitting (.386) and on-base percentage (.491) and projected as a mid-first-round pick. He hasn't been the same since having a cyst removed from his lower back last fall, however, with multiple scouts noting that he has looked stiff and his tools have regressed this spring. At his best, Banks employs a sleek left-handed swing and delivers line drives from gap to gap. He has above-average raw pop and started to become more aggressive and drive the ball more often in 2015. He hasn't looked as fluid or powerful during a disappointing regular season this year but did help his cause by winning the Southeastern Conference tournament MVP award in late May in front of a bevy of scouts. While Banks showed solid speed and arm strength with Team USA, both tools have elicited fringe-average grades in 2016. He profiled well as a right fielder in the past, but now scouts don't know what to make of him. A club that gives him the benefit of the doubt for past performance could take him in the first three rounds."

Callis said a guy he can see being one of the first players in this draft in the big leagues. I am always intrigued by guys who can move quickly. They said he had a feel for a changeup but was mainly fastball and curveball.

#BlueJays take a nice gamble on Zach Jackson. 93-96, one of the best plus breaking balls in the class. Command plagued him this spring

It's hard to see that unless he can iron out his command issues in quick order.
