L54 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Also, comparing a Redbull guzzling Lawrie to someone with Bush's history isn't even remotely the same. I understand everyone has a warm fuzzy feeling for Matt Bush, just like everyone used to have for Josh Hamilton. Now he's the butt of cocaine jokes. People enjoy rooting for the new, shiny underdog.

Not saying you personally but some of the anti Matt Bush posts in this thread just screams racism. This board is generally ok with Josh Hamilton but not with Matt Bush. Hmm m whats the difference?

Hmmm...I'll have to double check...was Maryland a blue state or a red state back in the days when "lynching negroes" was an actual political platform by the Democratic Party? Edit: And by days I mean back when Weams was a teenager in the 1950's.

Praxis Verified Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Bush is not the only player with a troubled past to get signed to a MLB team. Texas is not exceptional in this sense and neither was Toronto when they signed him. You have no point. You make no sense. You just run your mouth. This is a bit unfair. Bush is a serial offender who's actions clearly continued to degenerate between the time Toronto released him and Texas picked him up. I would not condone any organization taking a flyer on Bush after 2012 and I would have been appalled if Toronto had.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Can we just get a ban on weams? That's how their board operates, not sure why we would let him over here. No chance, the comedic potential merits keeping him around. Also, geolocation has him in Richmond, Virginia, so it could actually be him...
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 lol so many of you are falling for the troll.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Well with the Orioles Buck only accepts the right way. If Jose was still on Baltimore nad flipped the bat like that last year in the playoffs he'd be sitting a game or two out in the ALCS I can tell you that. lmao
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 lol so many of you are falling for the troll. He's getting dragged and looks like an idiot. Where exactly is he doing his troll damage? Or do you just consider any response at all to be him winning?

I'm going to have to assume parody going forward...

BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I don't believe that Toronto's management would refuse to employ Bush because of his history. If he works out, good on Texas for rolling the dice.

You do realize why you guys are welcome over at OH right? Everytime we allowed any Bluejays fans to sign up they always troll and start problems. Several even insulted our celebrity poster Roy Firestone. I can assure you I'm Weams and can also assure you that you guys have given us a terrible unfair rap.

He'll blend right in, in your cesspool of idiots.

I'm skeptical of this but I have already been a bit harsh towards you and arguing the sincerity of your opinion would be pretty puerile. I'll take this at cash value and drop the argument. Regardless of our disagreement on the merits of hiring Bush, I think we both agree that the Rangers handled this beef with Bautista like a bunch of clowns.

We ran Yunel Escobar out of town on a rail road for this: http://l3.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/MXDeFkJKPtdrNtzONM3TvA--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3NfbGVnbztxPTg1O3c9MjQw/http://media.zenfs.com/en/blogs/sptusmlbexperts/slurescobar2.jpg Would we really be keen to pick up a guy on his third DUI who ran over a pensioner's head and then fled the scene? Praxis Verified Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Shatkins are at the helm now, FYI. Fair enough. Probably time like KK said to drop this anyway and just say f*** the Texas Rangers. We can all agree on that!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I don't believe that Toronto's management would refuse to employ Bush because of his history. If he works out, good on Texas for rolling the dice. I feel this way too but since we can't find an exact corollary it's an argument that can't really be won or lost. I thought the fact that the Jays hired Bush himself would settle it but you can always point to differences in the rap sheet I suppose just as you could point to the fact that the Bush the Texas hired has paid a debt to society as an argument in their favor. The circumstances are different and if someone wants to hang their hat on the fact that the Rangers hired the 2016 version of Bush than there's not a whole lot to be said about it. Doesn't seem wholly sensible to me but as I told Praxis, I have no appetite to argue it further.

I like to think we're better than that, but hey...... The perception is different if the incident happens while the player is on your team. If the Escobar incident happened somewhere else I don't think the team would have any second thoughts about employing him now if the opportunity presented itself.

Didn't Y.Escobar in fact have some sort of incident with the Braves before coming to TO?

Pretty amazing that Tesicles tried to go undercover at first, being super overly nice and now he knows that this place won't ban him so he's just letting it all loose.
