The Jays always reserve one spot for a fringe player to act like the clown. Rajai (though his may have been from legit lack of intelligence), Kawasaki and now this dude!

They got additional value from Rajai on him being their clubhouse barber.

The problem is that he's not funny.

It would be more entertaining (I mean entertaining at all) if he cut the just kidding part. If he could dead pan his "It's a bit more difficult than little league" and move on it would be hilarious.

Did he learn from Brian Wilson in SF?

Nah Brian Wilson is totally committed to his bit. Biagini just likes to throw in a joke every now and then which he clearly telegraphs as jokes. Otherwise, he mostly gives the kind of straight answers anyone else would give. I guess by normal sports interviews standards, he is mildly amusing and that's good but it's not nearly as strained or as weird as people are making it out to be.

I love Biagini. I don't feel like he's trying too hard to be funny... just seems like he has a sarcastic / half-hearted sense of humour and maybe he deals with nerves by cracking jokes. MLB rookie nervous in every interview, so the flat jokes just pour out instinctually.

I think he's hilarious though

Another quirky interview yesterday, asked how many family and friends were coming to see him pitch.

I've burnt some bridges,I don't know how many will show up,he's got some friends from high school, college,

and church, and homeless people he's made friends with over the years.

It's solid dad humour.

I was talking to my girlfriend about the psychological development of dad humour the other day. When do men start doing it?

I think it's around the same age most people decide watching Netflix at home in pajamas and falling asleep by 11 is more fun than going out to bars and drinking all night.

I'm open to other perspectives though.

They way I heard it described was more a desire to still joke around, but to do it in a way that their kids could be involved as well.
