What's wrong with Orioles Hangout? I post there occasionally and it's a pretty good place to talk baseball. I believe it was rated the best sports message board by Forbes or something. And Roy freakin' Firestone posts there so that's pretty cool by itself.

 

It's a cool place to talk baseball if you're an Orioles fan, and that's fine. It doesn't change the fact that most of the posters there are uptight, obnoxious morons, though. How many of them regularly hope for injuries to other players so that the O's can be less s*****? I also don't know who Roy Firestone is but he has a pretty cool name.

 

I don't think it's nearly as strict as you guys think it is. I've seen plenty of fans of other teams post there. Some Cardinals fans, some Sux fans, even a Blue Jay fan or two. No one gets banned unless they are obviously there to troll (from what I've seen). The only thing I can come up with is that they don't really let you cuss, which kinda sucks because I like to let the expletives fly when I'm watching baseball.

 

I haven't. I tried posting there one time and learned: being a massive, vindictive dumbass is cool, lacking capitalization and punctuation=ban. They take themselves so seriously and it's funny to watch from afar. No front office or media should give a s*** about what some idiots who visit Camden Yards a few times a year have to say about the roster or in game decisions.

 

Weams is a cool guy too. One of the nicest guys you'll meet, honestly. I think some of the quotes you have of him are him being sarcastic, because there's no way he actually believes that Donaldson quote.

 

I have no reason to doubt this, but I have overwhelming evidence that he's a big time dumb-dumb.

 

No big deal, you're entitled to your opinions. I'm just curious. I read your board from time to time because I like keeping up with other teams around the league (and around the division especially), and this is a cool place too. You guys know the game, and that's great to see as someone who loves baseball.

I think you're confused. I never claimed you had to pay to post there, only that there are people who do, which is correct.

What's wrong with Orioles Hangout?

 

I've admittedly only been there once and instead rely on Boxcar for all of my Orioles Hangout news. I trust Boxcar completely and thus 100% believe that Orioles Hangout is a shithole.

 

This is further confirmed by the fact that the Orioles have a lot of players who are pricks, Manny Machado among them, so the board must take after the team. The team seriously does not have one likable player on the entire roster (I'll admit some of them like O'Day and Machado are at least fun to watch when they aren't enraging me for being *******s), therefore their message boards likely follow suit in that they don't have any likable posters. Not even you despite your best attempts to come over here and be nice, which I am convinced is nothing more than a ruse.

 

Plus, Baltimore is a horrible city and embarrassment to my country of birth and residence.

Pretty decent outing by Wright IMO. His command was shaky early but his stuff was pretty good throughout. Something to build on.

A few breaks here or there and that game is 6-0 Blue Jays early. His stuff is great and all, but reminds of watching Jake pitch early.

Funny, I was reminded of arrieta too. Not quite as good stuff, but just the way he goes about his business.

In some ways he DOES remind me of Arrieta, but I don't think the stuff is quite as good.

 

By the way, Arrieta was traded for 2 months of Scott Feldman.

It's funny. That entire game last night I couldn't get out of my mind how terrible Wright is. When he is throwing strikes they are down the heart of the plate. I counted 20+ center cut pitches the Jays bats took.

 

The Jays should have easily scored 5-6 runs against him last night.

Orioles and Ravens fan here and it's fun to have some of this from board to board.

 

I occasionally go to the Steelers boards to find something to write about from a different perspective and you know what I always see:

 

--Overreaction to any event, positive or negative

--Some expressed dislike within the board

--Common dislike of any opposing team viewpoints

--Extreme personalities using their internet anonymity as a shield

--All sorts of ridiculous bickering about just how much football you have to have played to understand the game

--Absurdly positive predictions about the home team

--Some very funny conversation (comedy gold after a Steelers loss) when things go bad

--Just a few people worth taking the time to tag as "ignored"

--Fans who like their own team a lot

 

Good fun and sometimes it's even worth participating in the conversation. I doubt Orioles Hangout is much different from your perspective.
