Not enough people found it offensive that most people who know anything about baseball are still picking the Orioles to finish last after starting 4-0. Then the one guy had to go and drop a truth bomb and that is strictly prohibited. I imagine he was punished harshly.

God damn

No, I doubt they care about a relatively small board like this one (which is what makes it great). A few of them linked to here one time or another but they mostly stay wrapped in their little cocoon. However, it is a requirement that Toronto be your least favourite team in order to post there.

So why do we give a s*** about them? Are we that insecure?

Absolutely. A bonus of this forum is that you're free to ignore threads that don't interest you. Why do we give a s*** about posting commentary on a game everyone is already watching? What value is added by 15 people posting "Bautista!" after he hits a home run?

The sooner you realize the internet is a silly place for silly things, the sooner you can attain enlightenment.

Lmfao, these guys are posting the standings after every game. Playoff talk abounds. s***ing on anyone who "doesn't believe in the O's"

I can only hope they keep it up until they play the Jays and we send them into a downward spiral for the rest of the year.

hmmm....that actually makes sense. I never quite looked at it that way. I have been enlightened. PM me an invoice for this service.

The point of posting "Bautista!" is that it's sometimes fun interacting with others while watching the game. I don't do it every game, but usually once a week is fun commenting on the game with others.

I don't think Boxy's point was to put that stuff down.

That's unfortunate. I thought more of you were against threads like this where you mock the mentally challenged.

All this stuff must be happening because Duquette wants out. He must have made it known that he wants to leave the orioles... Why else would he be getting this much attention?

Are We Rooting For The Blue Jays or Yanks This Series?

Some kind of a split I imagine?

I have to get something off of my chest. My 9 yr old son plays little league. At least half of the kids on the team are Skankee fans. The manager for the team is a Skankee fan. I help him coach the team and we are always talking about AL East baseball. I all honesty he is one of the nicest guys you would ever meet. Another dad who's kid plays on the team is a MFY fan and he and I talk baseball all the time. These 2 guys are very kind/complimentary about the Orioles whenever we talk baseball. We all hate the Blue Jays equally. The manager tld me he doesnt really care what happens in the AL East this year just as long as the Jays or Sox dont win the division. Those guys hate Big Sloppi. Hate the bat flipping Batista and Encarnacion, etc.

Now let me be clear, I am no fan of the Yanks, but Ive found myself not filled with my normal Yankee hate so far this season. Its all because me and these 2 Yankee fans talk baseball 3 times a week and its all cordial and even enjoyable. Its hard to believe these guys are actually NYY fans. But we share some mutual hate.

I really feel like I need a shower for typing that about the Yanks.

So who do we root for in this Jays/Skanks series?

Injuries.
- Great baseball fan, this guy.

Anyone but the Blue Jays.

When A-Rod, Tex and Girardi are no longer with the Yanks, they will not feel as toxic to me (but will always be in my top 3 of heated rivals). Gardner is kind of irritating as well, but I'd probably like him if he were on our team. Their entitled fans are the biggest irritants, especially in Camden Yards. Most of the ones I know personally are generally ok. I could be saying just about all of the above about the Red Sox (Papi being the second biggest jerk in the sport behind Bautista).

But right now, the Jays are Public Enemy No. 1 for me (see Bautista ^).

- That bat flipping SON OF A BITCH!! Bucky needs to teach him a thing or two about the game of baseball!!

I truly hate the Blue Jays and their entitled fans. Say what you will about the Yankees, at least they have the history to back it up. Blue Jays fans are insufferable and they've only been good for one year.

I'm rooting for a split but I have to admit it would be nice to see the Jays totally bomb this season.

- hmm, that sounds awfully familiar....

There is nobody on this planet who hates the Jays as much as do, and I am a Canadian. A lifetime O's fan. The hype machine here in Canada has been non-stop since last August, bet I've seen that bat flip at least a thousand times and all that crap about "bringer of rain" and the "stro show etc, etc.. So yeah, sweep em Yanks.
- "I like my baseball nice and boring, the way it should be and has been for hundreds of yea...*gasp* *dies of old age*"

I will root for the Yankees and Red Sox 100% of the time over the Blue Jays. It's not even close.

Cito Sucks! :)
- I think we can all agree on that...let's move on. 1993 was a long time ago and Mike Mussina is retired.

My wish list for the series:

Yankees lose, each game going 13-plus innings. I appreciate the logic of rooting against the BJs as the stronger team, but for me logic doesn't carry the day the day on this issue.

An injury or two for each team. Maybe Teixeira, Ellsbury, Tulo, Bautista, but I'm flexible.

Brushbacks, hit batters and a couple of brawls. Suspensions of Bautista, Donaldson, Teixeira, Miller.

In-full-view dissension among teammates, or between a player or players and a manager a la Reggie and Billy, with name-calling and some punches thrown.

Reports that the Steinbrenner and Rogers families have long kept their money in until-now-secret Panamanian bank accounts.

- Translation: I don't really believe in the Orioles and we need all the help we can get so that our s***** team sneaks into the playoffs and immediately gets bounced in the first round.

This is a perennial thread on the OH. Sometimes several crop up during a season. When they do, I always wonder if the Orioles ever provoke the same amount of vitriol among other team's fanbases. Offhand I can't think of any. No wonder we get no respect from the national media.
- Must be the calming presence of supreme emporor of Baltimore, Buckertons Showalter. I think we all hate the Orioles, right?! f*** the Orioles and their salty, bitter fans!

I've seen maybe half the innings the Orioles have played so far this season and some respect is deserved IMO. I have the same reservations as everyone else about the SP, but so far this looks like a solid team. May this be the year that the Yankees and Blue Jays start hating us.
- hahhhhh haaah

- uh oh, incoming idiots. I guess he missed a few posts above his where his fellow morons wished for injuries?

I can't wait to play the O's and see the s*** storm on their board when Bautista bat flips a bomb off "ace" Tillman.

That would be awesome.

There really is no team more insufferable than the s***** Baltimore Orioles. Their hot start will just be salt in a gaping wound when they finish DFL in the AL East.

"Skankees" "Big Sloppi"

I cannot.

And they always call the Yankees "MFY", standing for "mother f***ing Yankees".

Its just childish.

Bautista and Ortiz are the biggest jerks in the sport? Apparently they don't watch any other teams outside of the AL East

Carlos Gomez, Jered Weaver, Papelbon, Puig, etc
