closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 So they adopt a rule to protect second basemen. Please explain to me how this violates the spirit of that rule change?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Come on guys its the right call. Bautista clearly sweeped the foot with his hand
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 f***ing eat s*** Not really we shat the bed a few times this game. Also I think this has nothing to do with the new rule, I don't think you were ever able to tackle with anything other than your legs to break up a DP
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 That isn't a new rule. It's purposeful interference. It's always been in place. Can you explain the rule and how it applied there? Did they rule that Bautista intentionally reached out to affect the throw?
fireballW Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Well that's stupid. Looks like Edwin might have beat it anyway. Dont know what Jose is thinking with his arm out there but still...
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Damn I'd like to see a replay of Jose's "interference"
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Jose so stupid this is f***ed up, he didn't even need to do that.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 looks like eddy would have been safe, no? bad play by jose
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Stranding runners lost this game.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 you've been non stop garbage in this thread. Go f*** youself Seriously. What a piece of s*** human. lol
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Meh, if it happened to Tulo or Goins I would be pissed if it wasn't reversed. I get it.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Its a fair call though, Bautista shouldn't have dicked around knowing how strict MLB has been about slides recently.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Looking at the replay, yeah, Jose did have his arm out. f***. The s***** part is he didn't even need to do that as Edwin beat the throw anyway. What a joke.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 If Jose reached out, he's a moron. This is some grade A horseshit, but it looked like he swiped.
bowld Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 First football and now baseball. Safety first is ruining our sports!
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 f*** major league Baseball office...f*** that corrupt s***
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Come on guys its the right call. Bautista clearly sweeped the foot with his hand Yeah that wrist guard could have made him bleed out on the field there. Good call for sure.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 No reason to reach out at the foot. But the automatic double play is ********.
North of 60 Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Need to see it again to see if Bautista touched him before the ball was thrown or not.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Can you explain the rule and how it applied there? Did they rule that Bautista intentionally reached out to affect the throw? yes that is the rule. You've never been allowed to grab that foot of someone that is throwing. I will ask that someone else post the actual rule as I have a huge paper to finish tonight.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Its true that Bautista's slide probably had nothing to do with the bad throw but he did break the rules, he deserves all the blame here.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Don't have a problem with the decision. Jose reached out and blatantly tried to disrupt Forscythe... Still though, what a s***** way to lose, you're better than that Joey.
fireballW Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I'm as big of a Gibbons hater as there is but common guys. Gibbons went to our best reliever and it just didn't work out, it happens. After our starter was under 100 pitches and just had a dominant inning.
