Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I'd rather face the team with the worse bullpen. The Jays offense can't hit any starter, whether Verlander, Fulmer, Tillman, or anyone else, but the starter for the Jays can probably keep it close. I want no part of Baltimore's pen in a one game series. We hit Tillman all of the time, but you make a good point.
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Im just waiting to get my playoff ticket refunded.. since they may not get the first wildcard spot. I feel confident that they will make it to a wildcard game, but don't know about first or second I think they will be lucky enough to win one each against the Orioles and the BoSox.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Just tuned in. What happened to Travis?

Bet you your playoff tickets they win more than 2 games the rest of the season.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Anybody? Not much online really either. Shoulder. Unclear how serious it is.
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 By the way, do you know what happens if the Jays and O's are tied for the first wildcard spot? Right now, Jays won 9 of 16 games against the Orioles. So we will win the season series if we win at least a game, right? In that case, does it mean the Jays will be a home team for the series?
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Anybody? Not much online really either. Jays reported that he had trouble swinging the bat so was pulled from the game. Dont think this was related to the scrum earlier in the game. No details until tomorrow.

STLJaysFan Verified Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Maybe Travis reaggravated the same shoulder as last season. The replay of him wincing in the batter's box looked similar to when he was injured in 2015.

It could be a similar injury, or that might just be a face he makes when he's in pain...

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2016 Author Posted September 27, 2016 The games against Boston might not mean much to use but the ones vs Baltimore sure do Who we play in a WC game and where is pretty much up to us

It is going to mean Home field for the WC game which is huge.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 INF/OF Andy Burns and pitcher Chris Smith recalled from Buffalo as well.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I hope someone asks Travis if it was worth it
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Carerra leading off lol. Travis on the bench is a good sign but please just give him at least a full day off at min.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Obviously we need a short black guy to leadoff, Carrera is the natural choice!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Trade Donaldson and Happ in the off-season for a haul.

CBlake Verified Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 When does a tiebreaker game come into your train of thought in terms of setting up the lineup, match-ups etc.?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 When does a tiebreaker game come into your train of thought in terms of setting up the lineup, match-ups etc.? Likely when the season is over... I am guessing nothing is going to be decided till the weekend unless we wipe our asses with the O's and have 1st WC spot locked up. Then you can prepare accordingly. Until then you are playing to get to that spot.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 The games against Boston might not mean much to use but the ones vs Baltimore sure do Who we play in a WC game and where is pretty much up to us I wonder if the Jays would play them full strength if it meant not having to face Boston in the ALDS.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I wonder if the Jays would play them full strength if it meant not having to face Boston in the ALDS. I would assume they would play the starters for the majority and try to lineup their pitching accordingly as long as we had the #1 wild card spot wrapped up.

I mean like say the Jays clinch the first wildcard before Saturday, would they play with their A lineup on Sat and Sun if it meant knocking Boston out of the #1 Seed to avoid a potential matchup with them in the ALDs.

I really don't think it would cross their mind... you have to get to the DS first and do what is best for the team. My guess pitchers will be shortened up and players will be subbed out in the 6th or 7th..... Just enough so they get rested up but still get some swings in.n
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Probably unpopular, but I find Stroman incredibly annoying.
