You're argument was for him to be used a starter though..you're argument was cherry picking, I just sprinkled in some s***** numbers to debunk your bs.

f*** sakes, learn to read. You said he isn't a lights out reliever and that's absolutely false, period.

My support of him being a starter is based on completely different criteria.

I see a lot of people assuming Pompey will start. I think the blue jays see Saunders as the starting LF and Pompey as 4th OF/AAA/

Saunders will start as long as he is healthy.

Atkins quote seems to think he will be ready but I still have doubts. People probably think Pompey will get the bulk of the time because they don't believe Saunders will stay healthy enough to keep the job.

Saunders will start IF he ever gets and stays healthy.

Nope he's not a lights out reliever, there's no evidence to support this.

Lights out relievers can strike out batters when facing some bad luck, Sanchez just loads the bases up.

There will be plenty of AB's for him even if he doesn't start.

What a f***ing joke you are, completely hooked on one stat and ignorant of the overwhelming evidence presented to you.

I see no reason to continue this discussion any further.

By the way based on the trade yesterday Jays improved their projected WAR from 38.9 to 39.8 since Revere was projected to be replacement

Still behind both Redsox and Yankees. We need a viable backup C

That's rich considering you are using AVG as a basis for your argument for a guy who walks a lot of batters. Do your stupid list with OBPA or something, your ignoring half the data and overly righteous about it to boot, calm down man.

Atkins says Saunders should be ready for spring training

Are we going to send him out to the same dilapidated facility that cost him a long career and a comfortable lifestyle post-retirement?

On a minor league contract I hope.

Yer dumn, spittin is having a calm-mannered discussion and you result to smack talk when you are proven wrong. For shame, Grant, for shame.

Tbh, what the team decides to do with him is completely inconsequential to me. I feel a bit better about him since we have the best parts of Cleveland's FO now and pitchers seem to bloom from nothing there, but I'm entirely indifferent if he gets traded, starts or remains in the bullpen. Citing mechanics and limited innings, I feel the same way about Osuna.

Why? I understand about Sanchez.

I'd love to see Osuna and another pitcher be the 5 starter. Since Osuna hasn't seen innings we could alternate his starts so he builds up innings but is also able to pitch between starts.

f*** man, the reason was literally right before the bolded part

After this trade, I would bet you are disappointed!

It really makes zero sense to me to give him guaranteed money. If he wants to play for the Blue Jays he will take his non tender like a man and resign on a minor league deal with incentives that would match the salary he would make in arbitration. We have absolutely no idea what were going to get from him. He couldn't stay healthy before a career changing injury.

I don't think he has to resign if he gets non tendered. Isn't that the whole point?

People forget that Revere struck out with no one out when all he had to do was make contact

f*** him and his contact making skills. When it came right down to it he struck out. Revere is really a nothing player. The minute his speed depriciates a bit he will be Rajai Davis.

This was a great move for a great late inning reliever which we desperately needed

I agree. What made Revere such a irreplaceable lead off guy? He has a career OBP of .328 and hardly stole a base or drew a walk with the Jays. Plus he's an average defender with a noodle arm. Pompey could fill that role until Travis is back. Great trade, allowing Sanchez to start. The guys on MLB radio were saying that it was a waste of a great arm with Sanchez to have him as a 6th or 7th inning set-up man.

Its obviously not fair to call Sanchez an elite reliever right now. The results have been good, but the underlying numbers are not to that standard.

On the other hand, I don't think its fair to call him some sort of bust already. Reasonable people take FIP stats as the best way to evaluate how well a pitcher has actually performed. Its not really an interesting discussion anymore, its been shown to be true. I think the more interesting argument is which pitchers can outperform their FIP in the long term, and why that is. 100% not saying I believe Sanchez will do this, but its interesting to think about.
