I'm good with it. Mitigates the risk of if Hendriks isn't actually much better than he used to be in the rotation, at the cost of some control. Chavez is a nice add.

 

For those that will miss Hendriks, consider his story. He popped up, just like relievers tend to do. Maybe he's a good starter now too but it doesn't hurt to mitigate some of that risk.

I think he broke down at the end of the last two seasons and pitched poorly. He's been a reliever but he's also listed at 6'2, 160 which isn't very promising if true.

Also Sanchez probably has more market value, based on his higher "ceiling" I guess you could say, and he has an extra year of control on Hendriks (and is younger). Would like to package him with Pillar/Osuna/whatever for a stud if we could.

I hope the resign Lowe now. Everyone on the team has said they want him back in interviews and he was great last year.

That can't be argued, but I was rather optimistic about what the new Liam Hendriks could do in the role that we are likely to give to Chavez. I'm not going to argue with anyone who likes the trade though, that's perfectly legit.
