But he says he is retiring ! If he takes it not the worst thing is it ? Put him on the DL we can pay him and have him work with our minor league pitchers as a coach win win plus in a emergency we can have him as insurance or to pitch half a season fully healed

 

We don't get the pick if he retires. He has to sign with another team.

Given the fact there’s already been a trade, I think people realize that things could happen quickly. I think people are going to be ready to move quickly,” Hoyer said, referring to the six-player deal already swung between the Rays and Mariners on Thursday. This doesn’t necessarily mean the Cubs themselves will be busy, though Hoyer has already had at least “exploratory” talks with all 29 other teams.

Hope we get some action this week. Never understood that with FA open no one signs or makes trades until December. NBA, NHL, NFL players all sign like the minute FA opens.

This is true but it also gives more chances to talk about moves. I hate when I talk about one thing and another surprise happens after surprise. Its like opening all your gifts at once. I want to have a gift each day instead! Waiting is what hurts. :'(

Thats true. It all the signings happened now ST would feel like it would be years away. November is definitely the worst month of MLB season.
