Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I would love to see the offseason that allows us to keep Osuna in the minors all year. You realise how "good" our offseason would have to be for this to happen?
CHRIS Verified Member Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 You realise how "good" our offseason would have to be for this to happen? Yes. It's tough to tell, but when I was typing the first sentence of that post, there was a real tongue-in-cheek/eye roll vibe going through my brain, as in: "Pfft, I would LOVE to see the offseason that allows us to keep Osuna in the minors all year"
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Are we going to miss the ninja this offseason? I suspect moves would already have been made.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Are we going to miss the ninja this offseason? I suspect moves would already have been made. The guy had offseasons where his biggest moves were sergio santos and navarro...

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Fox Sports reports Jays are in talks with free agent Colby Lewis and A's Jesse Chavez. Awful news.... Lewis isn't Lackey
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Jesse Chavez is pretty good. Lewis isn't better than a #4/5 though. Would rather Chris Young.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Jesse Chavez is pretty good. Lewis isn't better than a #4/5 though. Would rather Chris Young. They probably don't trust Young to give them the 200 innings
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 Chavez would be desirable.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Why colby lewis? Maybe if they brought him in as a mop up guy...

glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I'd rather go with Chavez than a long-term deal with Estrada.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Please no long term deal with Estrada.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Don't know what long term is to people I rather have Estrada at 3/30 then 1/15.5

Laika Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Ok, LaCava might as well be from this message board. On Hutch: "We know it’s in there and if you look at his peripherals, his walk rate’s good, his strikeout rate is solid, he’s had success in the past and for some reason it just didn’t manifest itself in ERA."
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 From everything I'm reading it doesn't really seem like Shapiro is the one making any of the moves. He'll be there to sign off on the moves but Lacava is the one targeting certain FA.

LaCava just got even greater in my eyes. I now wonder what he thinks of Sanchez.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Shapiro is Metalijay. He's the Dogg

That's a pleasant change from Alex "my god look at dat ERA!" Anthopoulos.
nonamejays Verified Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 If you could get Lewis or Chavez for less than 8 million, then that would be okay. Couldn't hurt as #5's. Would only do that if you're spending for a #1 or #2 though.

And Colby Lewis is the type of (non) talent that I wouldn't want at any price. Even at only a couple million dollars, I wouldn't want him taking up a rotation spot. Maybe I'm misjudging his talent but off the cuff he seems like a well below average starting pitcher.
