Sem Robberse with another nice start. 5ip,1h,0r,1bb,4k. 62-43/pitches-strikes. Is he on an innings limit or is this typical for a young pitcher his age(still just 19!)? Does he see time in Vancouver this year?

How come no one has noticed that recently drafted Riley Tirotta is playing in his 3rd game for Dunedin? He's 1 for 2 with a 2B, BB, and K today and is hitting .625 early. He also already has 2 stolen bases.

This is a big tools guy. I've seen reports state that he has a plus arm, plus speed, AND plus power. I think it was even plus-plus on the arm or the speed, can't remember which.

Yeah he's interesting. Had massive numbers as a senior after struggling in previous college playing time. Maybe one of those sneaky senior picks who despite bad numbers would have been selected in 2020 on tools alone, if that draft was of normal length.

I noticed. Good start as well. I think am under the radar player for now that could quickly become something

Orlevis HR

This is a ridiculous display of power hitting from a 19 year old. Prodigious power honestly. Only other guy in the minors doing anything like this at that age is Marco Luciano who's a top ten prospect at this point.

Today I learned Richard Urena is still playing baseball.

Of course he's still playing baseball lol, he's only 25 and whether deservingly or not, made the big leagues at 21 and has 90 games played there. There's no reason for him to call it a career. I guess the most surprising thing is he's somehow still in the Blue Jays system despite being there since 2013.

There is a lot more pop in that swing than his stat line would indicate.

Pretty sure that swing was Dickie Urena and Otto was on 1B.

Hayden Juenger debut in Vancouver

Nice clean inning...no walks, no hits, 2 ks for a 20 year old in High A

Lots of guys are making their Pro debuts now. This morning in the FCL (formerly GCL):

OF Jaden Rudd (7th round pick this year - 18 years old): 1 for 3, HR, 2 K's

OF Garrett Spain (15th round pick this year - 20 years old): 1 for 3

OF J.C. Masson (26th round pick in 2019 as a super young Canadian HS'er - turns 19 in 15 days): 2 for 3, 2 2B's, K

C Juan Gonzalez (19th round pick this year - 20 years old): 1 for 1 coming on as a substitute

Manuel Beltre in August so far (4 games played):

.538/.700/.923

2 2B, 1 HR

7 BB, 1 K

3 SB, 1 CS

Even among kids in the DSL, he’s one of the youngest kids in the league. Literally just turned 17 two months ago.

No idea what source this guy is reporting from, but this news makes sense given that Frasso came out throwing high 90's and then disappeared off the map quickly:

SS Luis Garcia is putting up gaudy numbers for the DSL Blue Jays

.375/.453/.464, OPS .917

164 wRC+

15.6 K%/10.9 BB%

4 SB

Hoping to see a little bit more power, but he's only 17 so that should come with age.

From Ben Badler of Baseball America:

Luis Garcia, SS, Venezuela: Garcia stands out in the field, where he's a slick defender who projects to stick at the position with plus speed and a strong arm that projects to be another plus tool. Garcia, who trained with Yasser Mendez, is a defensive-minded player who will need to get stronger to develop his offensive game.

Also keep an eye on this kid, OF Yhoangel Aponte:

Yhoangel Aponte, OF, Venezuela: Aponte could end up one of the better values of the 2020 class, signing for a mid-level price with talent commensurate with some of the top outfielders available. He has a chance for five average or better tools that play up because of his instincts, especially in center field. With solid-average speed and arm strength, Aponte is a diligent, focused worker when it comes to his defensive craft and it shows in games. He's not a burner, but he reads the ball well off the bat, has a quick first step and glides to balls in both gaps with efficient routes and diving catches. He has performed well against live pitching too, making frequent contact with good strike-zone judgment, a lot of line drives and surprising power from his 5-foot-11 frame.

Like P2F's post from BA's Blue Jay Top 30 right now, our 2021 international class is looking decent.

#11 - Manuel Beltre

#14 - Yhoangel Aponte

#15 - Luis Garcia

One more guy to keep an eye on, from previous years int'l class:

OF Cristian Feliz

6-4, 190 lbs

18 yrs old , L/L

.273/.385/.477, .862 OPS

.205 ISO, 144 wRC+

Dominican outfielder Cristian Feliz, who trained in the same program as Brito, signed for $325,000. Feliz, a 17-year-old lefty, has a bigger frame (6-foot-5, 200 pounds) and even more power than Brito, with a chance to be an elite power bat. Feliz has excellent bat speed and plus raw power, and with the physical projection he still has, he could develop 70 or possibly even better raw power in his prime. Feliz has a solid swing for his size, but he is a long-armed hitter who sometimes has timing issues in the box. That leads to swing-and-miss tendencies, which adds risk, but after signing he kept it in check and performed well in the Tricky League. Feliz is a corner outfielder who needs to improve his defensive instincts and mobility.

Andrew Tinnish has really done an excellent job with the international scouting the past couple years.

Glad he stuck around. I was positive AA was going to poach him for the Braves.

If you remember, he actually did leave for a split second with AA, but then appeared to change his mind and came back. He's been very very good in his role.

On that front, they're in line to sign BA's #11 guy and #1 ranked catcher in next year's IFA class. Should be pretty excited given that whoever the hell has been scouting catchers over there has seemingly been freakishly good.
