Still 22 years old and in 19 games this season at A+ has 7 HRs. Small guy but, I've always had Jose altuve vibes from him. Curious what others think

Tiedemann Estrada Rojas Yesevage Stanifer Stephen Barrierra As well as guys like Bloss, Macko, Bastardo, Rogers and Watts-Brown kicking around. Unless we can add a top of rotation arm with some control left, than I hope we hang on to Tiedemann, Barriera, Yasavage, Rojas and Bloss. All 4 have potential to pitch in AAA next season and set us up beautifully long term come 2027 onward. Im also still high on Berriera. His career has been riddled by injuries but he's still only 21 (or 22?) Southpaw who throws a 96-97 fastball with + movement and has secondary stuff too. Kid still has top of rotation potential

It will be interesting to see how they handle the rotation as a long term thing. We have seen the Jays invest in durable veteran SP for years now. Ryu, Gausman, Berrios, Kikuchi, Bassitt, Ray. It has been their whole thing. Not many young arms or prospects given opportunities (not that any even existed to force their hand....) Now they have a chance to handle the rotation a bit differently. Bassitt pending FA, Gausman after 2026. But will they? Or will they still target durable SP like Mitch Keller and maybe just leave SP5 slot open for Yesavage et al. Will they trade a bunch of these young arms? Be aggressive on RP conversions with some of them?

Not sure on Barreira... still fresh off injury and repeating rookie level. It would be a pretty big achievement for him to make Vancouver next season let alone AA or AAA. But even then. Vancouver has a chance to have a pretty good rotation too if Barreira, Maroudis, King etc all get there. Fernando Perez too? Eat My Shatkins 1

Its obviously early, but this kid falls in the range of uber-prospects that we see every few years. Obviously no guarantee that he amounts into anything either, but the tools are much louder and definitely resemble Vladdy more so than guys like Beltre, Meza, etc. While the Jays have had horrible luck with their high-priced IFA's recently, it is worth mentioning that C Franklin Rojas (who signed for just under $1M two years ago) and 3B/SS Juan Sanchez (who signed for just under $1M last year) are looking good this season in the DSL. Rojas is repeating the level, but Sanchez is crushing it and has an OPS of ~1.000 with 6 HR's. Laika, Woocash, Spanky__99 and 1 other 4

metafour Verified Member Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Juan Sanchez is 3 for 3 with another two doubles in today's DSL game. He is back up to .345 with a 1..021 OPS. This kid looks very promising early. Also, BA has some recent footage of his swing: Spanky__99 and Woocash 2
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 FYI... BA slid Jojo Parker in at 3rd in our system in the top 30 respectively, with a 60 FV Grade. Quote 3. Joseph Parker SS Ht: 6'2" | Wt: 195 | B-T: L-R Age: 18 BA Grade: 60/Extreme Track Record: Track Record: Parker, whose given name is Joseph but goes by Jojo, has steadily climbed draft boards by hitting, hitting and then hitting some more. The Blue Jays selected Parker with the 8th overall pick in the 2025 draft, signing for a little under $6.2 million. Scouting Report: Parker is a strong athlete with a powerful 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. He has a picturesque lefthanded swing and a nose for the barrel. Parker has a case as one of the best pure hitters in the class, with real power to go with his polished hit tool. He starts with a narrow and open lower half, with the bat resting on his shoulder before taking a standard stride with a simple and quiet hand load to get the barrel into a good hitting position. The swing itself comes with solid bat speed and strength, and Parker does a nice job getting the barrel into different hitting zones depending on how he’s pitched. He has an eye for the zone, will take pitches when he needs to and is a proven hitter against both velocity and spin. He’s got all the ingredients to be an above-average hitter with above-average power. Parker is typically an average runner, but he has turned in some plus run times in workout settings in 2025. A shortstop now, he might slide off the position because he lacks typical quickness and actions. He does have an advanced internal clock, above-average arm strength and the work ethic to earn a chance to prove himself at the position. He could fit at third base, second base or an outfield corner. The Future: Parker is a high end high school prospect with an above-average hit and power combination who could blossom into a star. Scouting Grades Hit: 55 | Power: 55 | Run: 50 | Field: 50 | Arm: 55 Woocash and max silver 1 1

Hes shown poorly at the MLB level, and even at AAA before this injury. That's usually grounds for them to drop a guy a rank.

jmomcc Verified Member Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 I kind of inherently don't trust pitching prospects (and i saw an article recently that said public prospect places are getting worse at ranking pitching and better at hitting) but volume is always good. We knew Parker wasn't going to be top 100 before the draft obviously but he seems like someone who could rise up quickly either if he surprises and can play short, or if he rakes. Him and Rojas could be guys who rise to 50FV or more for Parker. It seems like Roden is no longer a prospect. I would be very interested in his rating.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 I'm also surprised Bloss is still on there. Nimmala, Parker, Teidemann, Yesavage, Stephen, King, Rojas, Stanifer, could all be on the top 100 lists next season or at some time during 2026.
