He's ready

He’s got some deception there too with that little pause in his delivery and the short arm action. Probably allows the fastball to play up a bit. His spin rate on the fastball must be pretty good too, it wasn’t dropping much at all.

Yeah, I'm honestly really excited for him. He looks legit nasty.

1 more start and he should be around 80 pitches and then can justifiably switch places with Manoah.

Alan Roden is hitting .300 .426 .459 in Vancouver

Spencer Horwitz like except Roden is a bit bigger (maybe will be able to generate more power), has a bit better k rate and k/bb, and has played 0 games at 1b, all games in the outfield.

low sample size though (these guys can collapse to nothing at any moment).

I'd give him a chance but it looks like a reliever to me

According to scouting reports he also throws a low 80s slider and changeup. Slider is apparently effective, changeup is mostly just something he throws to lefties.

Olerud just made a comp that wasn't 30 years old. Congrats!

Also left handed and also 0 power. 3 HRs in 263 PAs so far in the minors. 5’11 but weighs in at 215. Might be some more pop in there but gonna need to unlock it to be useful.

Chad Dallas was successful again in his second AA start. 5 innings allowing one ER on four hits, no walks and struck out four.

Davis Schneider homers in back to back games, his 10th and 11th longballs for Buffalo.

Frustrating

I'm confused, wasn't White just transfered to the 60 day IL? Maybe this is a long term phantom IL sting so he can hopefully work his s*** out in the minors?

Probably a bit of that yeah. They can keep shutting him down every few weeks if he's not making progress but, if they keep doing that they'll eventually get in trouble.

Jimmy Burnette in AAA now.

Hopefully he performs. It'd be nice to have another lefty reliever who can miss bats.

It would just be nice to have 1 lefty reliever who can miss bats

Haha. Touchè

Although to be fair Mayza has been solid this season so far. That's the thing with our BP. My bet is if Yimi ever figures it out, right about the same time Mayza will start sucking.

Never firing on all cylinders.

Or, Yimi/Swanson/Mayza all looking elite for a few weeks while Romano struggles and blows 4 games.

This is the way

Davis Schneider is single handedly turning himself into a centrepiece for a deal with the A’s.

We could use a guy like Ruiz.

Orelvis 1/4 with a HR (13th) and BB.

Such a weird guy to evaluate. I’ve been a big Orelvis doubter but he’s

improved his plate discipline which gives me hope he can turn into a Joey Gallo type. Extreme outcomes on offense with good defence.
