Forgive me if it seems like I’m throwing cold water on all your Moreno induced erections, but let’s keep in mind he has all of 145 PA at AA, and 10 at AAA.

 

His arrival is likely not imminent, barring some drastic change with the CBA regarding players initial years of control. Yes, I think we will see Moreno next season, but I highly doubt it will be early in the season.

Dafuq??? That's still early mate, if he continues to rake he'll be getting his fair share of PA. Everyone needs to temper expectations, though. See what Atkins plan is this winter.

Just saying I don't expect him to break camp as the starting 3rd baseman or the starting catcher. As a catcher he would still need quite a few reps at AAA and as a 3B he has what... a few innings out there? Love the expectations and the hype but the kid still has to get some upper level minors experience at both positions before you throw him in a pennant chasing season.

Sure, I don't think he's breaking camp, I don't think anyone else does. Yet, he's being aggressively moved, including the AFL, he might get assigned to the DR this winter, but I find that unlikely. We'll see.

Exactly, I just think we as fans are finally excited to have a fruitful farm system and can't wait to see some of these young pups!...and btw...nothing wrong with some excitement!

Donovan 19 SB in MiLB this year, probably 55 to 60 speed. Tough out for anyone on a hit down the 3B line.

The Arizona Fall League’s Mesa Solar Sox (home to the #BlueJays prospects) will play in the AFL Championship game tomorrow—Saturday the 20th.

 

The game will be televised at 7pm EST on MLB Network. Perhaps one final 2021 look at Moreno, Spraker, Horwitz and company....

Double puts @BlueJays C Gabriel Moreno at .329 for the season. He has been outstanding. Gap hitter with very good plate discipline and a measured swing. I love his upside for #BlueJays.

Anderson is a tire fire at this point, so that's just a "throw s*** at the wall and see if it sticks" move.

 

Danner was a C converted to pitcher who showed some pretty decent results in Vancouver. Reliever upside.

 

I know s*** about Francis.

 

Jimenez is an all glove, no power IF from Low A. More walks than Ks though as a 20 year old.

 

Logue is still a starter, had a decent year at AAA, likely gets a chance to show in spring training for a shot at whatever role is left by that time. Likely stays in AAA as depth until he's needed.

 

Samad Taylor not protected, ditto Spraker.

Joey Murray also not protected. Albeit that may be because he’s not healthy. Hasn’t played all year.

Yes it seems a guarantee that Samad will be picked, but that's certainly not true for Leo. But Shatkins knows best.

Not gonna lie, I'm not ecstatic about Samad Taylor being exposed. I wanted him as the utility guy on the MLB roster next year.

 

I'm assuming the Jays believe he won't get picked up because other teams might not want to roster an AA player on their 26 all season long but I still think he gets poached.

I believe he'll be gone also, Miguel Hiraldo might get taken too.

He probably gets taken, but is also probably returned like 90% of players are. The one big mistake we made was Romano in 2018. Reading old articles before the draft they even highlighted Romano as a guy who could potential be transitioned to the bullpen where he might be a decent reliever. Texas, thankfully returned him at the end of training camp!

I don't have any actual information on this, but it really seems like position players in the rule 5 draft rarely stick around, at least lately. It seems to mostly be about teams plucking pitchers they can put into the pen.

Akil Baddoo might be the only recent example of a position player not being returned.

So was Roberto Clemente. Recent examples are few and far between for position players though.
