Finally.

At the very least Moreno would be in AAA right now if it weren't for that injury.

He'll play C/3B in fall league ball. Possible he is with the Jays end of April 2022.

You really think they’ll move him to 3B? I know they had him play there once and people on here have mentioned it, but wasn’t sure if the brass was talking about it. I just hope he’s as good when he comes back.

They will likely give him some reps there, yes. Positional flexibility is good. Moreno was not originally a catcher, as I recall.

There are a few MLB catchers that play multiple positions.

In Buffalo's 3-0 win they had 7 pitchers go 1 inning each. Don't think I recall ever seeing that before. Seemed to work though.

Player A:

A Ball- 308 PAs, 19 HRs, 52 R, 57 RBIs, 5 SBs, 12.3% BB%, 22.1% K%, .278 ISO, .309 BABIP, .278 AVG, .929 OPS

A+ Ball- 91 PAs, 1 HR, 9 R, 11 RBIs, 0 SB, 5.5% BB%, 40.7% K%, .084 ISO, .391 BABIP, .229 AVG, .599 OPS

Player B:

A Ball- 329 PAs, 19 HRs, 49 R, 68 RBIs, 4 SBs, 10.10% BB%, 26.1% K%, .293 ISO, .333 BABIP, .279 AVG, .941 OPS

A+ Ball- 105 PAs, 6 HRs, 12 R, 15 RBIs, 0 SBs, 5.7% BB%, 21.9% K%, .219 ISO, .206 BABIP, .208 AVG, .687 OPS

On MLB Luciano is 5, Orelvis 49, huge difference for 2 players so similar stats wise.

Orelvis has better numbers. Orelvis is showing more power.

So the scouts must think Luciano is better

Scouting grades Luciano: Hit: 55 | Power: 65 | Run: 45 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 | Overall: 60

Scouting grades Orelvis: Hit: 55 | Power: 60 | Run: 50 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55

Pretty much the same on everything, except Luciano is scouted as having more power even though Orelvis is already showing a bit more....

You rarely see a teenager sell out for big time power. Travis Snider, Vlad, Bo, even Trout they were all like 11, 12 homeruns their first go around low a/ high a.

I wonder if Martinez is just stronger already then the other guys (doesn't seem like the case) or just has his own style, selling out for power, and when/if it doesn't work he might cut down on his swing a bit, kind of end up in the same place as Bo, but different direction.

I like how you grouped Travis Snider with Vlad and Trout.

Just mentioned Snider as one of the successful teenagers in A ball, obviously it didn't translate in the majors... He hit .313 with 16 homers in 118 games at Lansing, Vlad hit .320 or so with 13 homers in 120 games, Trout .320 with 11 homers in 90 games

Seems like a lot of great hitters, who eventually show huge power have a .300 season with 10-15 homeruns first time in a-ball. I was just curious if there is any reason.

Like for example they are coached to cut down there swing and hit for average when young. Martinez is a bit different, more like .265 with more power.

Doesn't look like he is selling out more for power and I don't think he is stronger. Id say its more of a swing that is really good and conducive to homeruns/in game power. Also, he may have that power approach swing already perfected where as Vlad and Trout were more of just hit the ball hard early in the minors

Blue Jays LHP Yaifer Perdomo has tormented the Tigers FCL West team.

He's faced them twice this year.

His numbers?

9 IP

0 R

2 H

4 BB

22 K

Wanted to see where Orelvis was ranking on the HR leaderboard for the minors (he's 6th), and realized that the Royals have three of the top five HR hitters in the minors this year and they're all in AAA now (Witt Jr., MJ Melendez, Nick Pratto).

Orelvis is an absolute monster prospect. His traditional numbers so far in his career are pretty eye popping. In only 525 at bats he's produced 33 home runs, 34 doubles and 117 RBI. He looks to have struggled a bit in high A Vancouver. Digging into his batted ball statistics I see he only has a .211 BABIP but this may have been earned and not a bad luck situation as he has gotten pretty fly ball heavy, as his fly ball rate has jumped at the expense of his line drive rate. One encouraging bit is that he's managed to cut 5% off of his strike out rate. Walks have dropped a little at the same time however. I think that as he gets a little older and starts to get a good handle on approach at the plate he may put up even more impressive numbers given the massive raw power and early ability to tap into it.

Nice drainage... someone call a plumber! lol

Heh, drainage system ain't the problem in this case, since there's nowhere for it to drain.

But, few things make me happier than anything bad that happens to the Yankees org.

One of my favorite pitchers down in the lower minors Michael Dominguez had a solid outing today for Dunedin, his 5th since being promoted from the FCL. 5 IP, 9 K's, 1 BB, 3 hits, 1 ER. Just turned 21, had a solid K and BB rates 2 years ago in the GCL and early this year in the FCL. Struggled a couple times in his debut in Dunedin but good to see him getting back on track

Orelvis 1-2 with another HR and a K to start today

Added a couple of walks.

I think in the prospect evaluations going into next year his power will be bumped to 65-70.
