Todd Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 seven stolen bases does not make him fast. And who cares if he's black. Does not mean s***.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 After hitting two doubles last night, Alford is now hitting .292/.376/.449 in May. Huh. Been saying it...he will be up soon at this pace
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 seven stolen bases does not make him fast. And who cares if he's black. Does not mean s***. Todd this is racist

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Todd this is racist I am sure I agree with you.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 After hitting two doubles last night, Alford is now hitting .292/.376/.449 in May. Huh. So he has a pulse. With only Jonathan Davis blocking him he'll probably come up some time this year. 0 confidence in him, of course. But he's more interesting than Davis even though he might not be any better.
Ray Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Nate Pearson today: 4.2 IP, 7H, 5ER, 2BB, 5K
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 So basically, no one knows anything about Kirk. This guy thinks he's fine behind the plate (I takes that as a 50 or so), and a previous report by someone (I don't remember who) has him at a 20 defensively. There's video. Judge for yourself. Kirk is perfectly fine behind the plate.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Nate Pearson today: 4.2 IP, 7H, 5ER, 2BB, 5K Cue tercet.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 But Davis is now the new Superman. That was a great catch, brought me out of my seat.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Seth Beer has been destroying it this year. 183 wRC+ between A and AA. BABIP aided though.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Seattle might have gotten a star out of the Cano/Diaz trade. Kelenic is killing it this year. 172 wRC+ .261 ISO 11.6 BB% 20.9 K% 10 HR / 7 SB as a 19 year old in A ball.
jmomcc Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Riley adams and Forest Wall are killing it. Fangraphs seem to consider both to be bench types but for Adams that seems to be based on his bat so presumably if he continues to hit, he is very interesting. Wall is considered to be a LF for them but if he could stick at center, I guess he's interesting.
jmomcc Verified Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Warmoth is a single away from a cycle and he should get at least two more at bats! Guys are really heating up everywhere right now.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Warmoth is a single away from a cycle and he should get at least two more at bats! Guys are really heating up everywhere right now. Warmoth looks like s***. Striking out too much, has virtually no power to speak of and to top it all off, is old for the level. Adams is striking out a lot as well, but I'll give him a mulligan so far.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Griffin Conine with 4 hits, 2 dingers and 2 doubles
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Yep Conine just had the best game of his career. Pretty cool the second game back from his suspension.
Todd Verified Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Some one are he said i was racist because i said does not mean s*** if he is black. Let me say more to this. Before everybody has a bitch fit. That comment was meant to say does not matter if he's white, black, Yellow, purple, what ever as long as he/she has talent. But after seven years how long is a guy a prospect for if he sucks. Like Hagen Danner, Anthony Alford, est.

Ray Verified Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Logan Warmoth has quietly got himself up to a 131 wRC+ now in High-A 25 games .276/.343/.429 3 HR Granted, it's his 2nd go around in High-A, but still better than nothing. Cal Stevenson also has a 156 wRC+ in May. I'm very impressed by how he's handled the jump to High-A, and he's kept that K-rate pretty low too.
Ray Verified Member Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Also, Ronny Brito (SS we got in the Martin trade) made his season debut in High-A yesterday. Quite an aggressive move placing him in Dunedin when he only played in Rk league before. He went 2-for-4 with a walk.

C Riley Adams is now batting .307/.376/.520, .896 OPS and 161 wRC+ in double-A He’s on a 9 game hitting streak, batting .455/.486/.758, OPS 1.243 since May 21, Hello! And Captain Kirk had 160 wRC+ in rookieball, 169 wRC+ in Lansing, and now 197 wRC+ in Dunedin.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Which are our best yellow and purple prospects Barney something or other is our best purple prospect.. Can't recall the last name.. I do know he can sing and dance and has been putting up prehistoric numbers. Huge dude..
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Forrest Wall went 3-5 with 3 doubles. He is now hitting .309/.411/.466 in 178 at bats. Drawing walks and not striking out a ton (18% K%). I have no idea what his defence is like, but this team needs OF prospects in the upper minors badly. Promote him (to AAA) and see what he's got. Once they make some trades and call Alford up mid season (it's going to happen), hopefully they move Wall up then. There's a lot of s*** in AAA (Teoscar, McKinney, Brito, Hanson). Can't have any of them block a potentially decent prospect.
