Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Disagree. We're talking 2-3 years from now. There's a real chance a college player taken by the Jays in the upcoming draft reaches the majors before Bo does. Have you guys talked about who's spot in the rotation T.J. Zuech is taking? LOL If you read the conversation, I didn't even take part, so "you guys" doesn't even apply to me. But congratulations on feeling that you're better than those who like to speculate about the future, how dare they?
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I don't want to see travis bouncing throws across the diamond all game. Pretty sure hes never made the throw from 2nd to home without at least one bounce.

My point remains valid (minus you).

I just don't think the conversation is hurting anything, it's fun to speculate even if you're completely right that a lot can and will change between now and then.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Can anyone make a case for a promotion at this time for any of the top 20ish preseason prospects other than vlad, Alford to aaa when he gets back, Bo, and Max? Alford to AAA or back to the majors if Pearce is out for an extended time. Bo and Bradley should move up to A+ with Vlad as a fearsome unit. Jordan Romano has probably earned some consideration for a AA call-up. Pentecost should remain in A+ until he's catching more consistently. We also have Jansen in AA who needs playing time.

What's with the topic policing? I love speculation, especially on a forum and especially about our exciting young prospects.

You want to talk with Gruber about where Bo and Travis will be playing in 2020 - you be my guest. I can't wait to wade through the discussion about our 2020 lineup while looking for legit posts about our prospects. I mean f*** guys, that 2020 rotation with Stro, Sanchez, Zeuch, our 2017 #1 pick and SRF is going to be the BOMB. Connor Greene setting up Osuna - we'll be World Series favourites fo shizzle!

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Is Bo Bichette the best pure hitter in baseball? 2/3 with another HR so far today. Average up to .377. Career average up to something like .393. The 19 year old probably leads organized minor league baseball in wRC+

That's a critically important fact when projecting development.

metafour Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 It takes more than just a calculator to scout players, projection plays a roll too. Bichette has much better defensive projection than Vlad. Who knows what happens in the future, but there is obvious scouting bias at play when you compare prospects like this.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Wow - that's awesome. They are remarkably alike. Very interesting considering so many scouts question Bo's load.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 It's like (Torres) and n (Bichette).
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Is there a site that ranks the stats of all minor league players from all leagues in one leaderboard?

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Bo seems to coil back a bit more. Yes, but amazing bat control
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Yes, but amazing bat control Bat speed is his best attribute.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Yes, but amazing bat control It also looks like he's dropping his hands and swinging with his shoulders (what Donaldson preaches) while Torres looks like he's swinging more with his hands. Bo better than Gleyber, you heard it here first.
